Stopping Impulsive Thoughts

The coffee idea is not working, it might have caused the stomach problems that woke me up early. Are there scriptures anyone knows or strategies to stop these thoughts from coming? They are an obstacle to any sort of recovery or progress. I can't sort my thoughts from thoughts that are not mine sometimes and it causes me distress or anxiety. Advice?

Simple and true help has come from doing what YHWH says in His Word - Jesus gives PEACE , not like the world gives,
Jesus gives PEACE freely, without charge, and none of us merit His PEACE....

Nutritional challenges abound today - (for the last 75 years) -
and
many kinds of troubles occur (in mind and body)
that are remedied often when the nutrition balance is started to be restored to healthy.
Often even hearing voices is caused from nutritional imbalances ,
occuring from mal-nutrition, exposure to toxins, or use of drugs.

Finding a health care person experienced in this knowledge is an amazing God-send, and helps more than people realize until they go through it themselves or with family/ friends/ acquaintences.

I tried coffee because it sends to make me tired or slow my brain down. After some light research that might have caused my stomach problems but impulsive thoughts have bothered me I I remember correctly since a while before I joined CF.

Cast down every imagination that sets itself up against the knowledge of God and take captive every thought to the obedience of Christ.

The how-to: for every irrational, impulsive, blasphemous thought that enters your mind, you thank God (out loud) for the opposite. Let every thought push you to the throne in thankfulness!

The thought: "I'm worthless"
The prayer: "thank You, God, that you paid the highest price for me because you love me so much"

The thought: "God doesn't love you"
The prayer: "thank You, God, that you loved me enough to buy me back with Jesus' blood"

The thought: "you're not even saved"
The prayer: "God, the bible says that if I confess with my mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in my heart that You raised Him from the dead, I will be saved. I believe that. Thank you that I am saved."

The thought: "you don't really believe that"
The prayer: "thank You, God, that nothing separates me from Your love. Thank You that I'm growing in faith to believe You and Your things. Jesus I give you full permission to renew my mind and implant your thoughts."

We are set up for victory, but sometimes we need help!

I used to have what i called "hurry sickness" and impulsivity was a big part of it.

What helped me is God using butterflies of all things, to S-L-O-W me down and C-A-L-M me and s-l-o-w my breeeeeathing down, and thus the adrenaline that was pumping fiercely, and my blood pressure, and heart beat, etc. It was an SOS thing He did LOL!

Impulsivity is a mean master. It's like being "driven".

Slowing that drive down little by little brings more peace and less and less self condemnation.

The kicker - truth doesn't require feeling. Even if it doesn't "feel true" doesn't make it not true. So declare away!

Put the armor of God on daily.

I don't know anyone who doesn't have intrusive thoughts, I have them.
What matters is what you do with such thoughts...allow them to take root
and believe them or reject them and plant truth in your mind and believe that truth...I go with reject them and plant truth in my mind and believe it.
Who's truth? God's truth...therefore, I go to scriptures on
what to do with my thoughts that be shocking, blasphemous, lewd or whatever.
Those thoughts of mine be contrary to God's Word... I renew my mind daily on scripture such as:
2 Corinthians 10:3-5
Philippians 4:4-8
Ephesians 4:17-32
Ephesians 6:13-17
Proverbs 4:23-26

It's not enough just to renew your mind on those verses...put those verses
into practice daily.
