Or one can go with areas tied to scripture but not of Scripture. Ben Hur and The Robe come to mind. An issue with Scriptural accuracy arises when one goes with a major character and decide they need to make changes.

Hmm. I wonder what was the accuracy level of "To Hell and Back" starring Audie Murphy playing Audie Murphy.

Audie: This is the way it happened....
Director: No, I'm not feeling that.

Is it just me, or is there less "War on Christmas" whining this year? I'm sure Fox News still talks about it, but I'm certainly not hearing much about it this year.
I can't tell if there's less fuss or if I've just figured out how to avoid all that talk. ^_^

... Sure, that movie was full of "God" themes, but was it a movie that represented the truth of God or Jesus Christ? Umm, no.

Fair enough.

Question? Did you ever see the Prophecy?

if so, what did you think?

It would be interesting to see if there was any sort of "Christian scale" for movies with God themes.

Something like

Movie..................Christian scale (adherence to scripture 1 to 10).............. Rating (1 to 10)
Prophecy.........................5.............................................................................8
Michael...........................2.............................................................................6

Special effects have their place in film. They have been used since the birth of still film. Film, being use loosely today.

Mattes and minor illusions are used in most movies. The problem is when they take over, and reduce the story and acting. There is a place for everything.

While I am a major digital effects and 3d enthusiast, I find many movies ruined or over reliant on computer effects. Story and performances are what really matter in my opinion.

Great movies don't need to rely on millions of yen spent on CGI. They need decent screenplays and crews.

Just my 2 pesos.

I usually get sucked in by trailers that show off cool looking effects and I probably need to be a little more careful, haha. Perhaps it's just that many of the Biblical stories provide a very good oportunity to utilise special effects.
i know what you mean about that Godzilla film, it focused way to much on the G.I. who i didn't really care about i wanted to see Godzilla!

Yeah. I'm no expert but I would of preferred Bryan Crantson to be in the film a little longer.

Has anyone else seen other movies and documentaries by Kirk Cameron?

This is when I wished I hadn't disabled emoticons on here because there just are no words for "Left Behind: World at War." I saw it as a kid while attending a lock-in (sleepover) at a friend's church, and I tried to make myself fall asleep to escape it. "Unstoppable" also felt unstoppably awful. I don't understand the appeal of this man at all for anyone under the age of 40 who isn't nostalgic for how cute he might have been back in the 1980s. I've met him a few times and thought he was reasonably nice, but I haven't been impressed by his work. He has a son a year older than me and two daughters my age who've attended youth stuff and are genuinely friendly. For them I give him props. I can't do the same for the work of his I've seen thus far.

Way of the Master by Kirk Cameron and Ray Comfort on how to evangelise. Some of the responses they get are pretty funny. I haven't watched it in months, but if I remember correcrly it was pretty 'evangelical' in that it suits that branch of Christianity.
