So you retract your previous comment as to how the Congresswoman has no such right?

No, because my previous comment was talking about a "right to complain" in an entirely different context of the meaning of the phrase.

You know that, but you love to be contrary, so you'll continue to hack apart my statements to make it look like I said something I didn't, because you do that quite often.

So you didn't say she had no right to complain? Then who was using your username? Be careful with that password. No telling who might get hold of it just to make you look bad.

So I apologize. I never considered the possibility of identity theft.

There you go again, hacking apart my statements.

Does anyone mind if I put stiggy on ignore? Trolls are amusing sometimes, but this is getting old.

Touma - let me ask you a question - Have you looked at how the countries that has control of their people do it - They control the health care, the oil, and the food - it is not done overnight - it is cut a little at a time - I'm not worried about my generation - but my children's generation is going to be hurting. How can you look at the leaders and their mindset of Socialism and not see that some of the things going into place now will benefit them down the road. We are all so busy calling each other names and drawing the line between Dems and Rep that things are going on behind our backs that will have a big impact later. Throughout history - this is how it has been done.

Socialism is fine and does work in certain circumstances, you're saying The entire world is going to suffer just because of Socialism?

Control? They only do it through Taxes in Europe and in the vast Majority of the Developed World. what the heck are you talking about. Please explain yourself.

Big impact? Explain how Socialism will crumble the entire world? Do you think European people are losing it's right just because of Socialist Health care?

Sorry - didn't mean to ignore your question. However, I've been around a lot longer than you have and have walked through all this before - but never before have we been in such danger zones as we are right now. When we had those rules before we did not have a government full of people wanting Socialism and the danger of the wrong people taking over all the decisions was not there and we had a lot more trust in our leaders than we now have. You are young and have not seen what has been building for years until we are virtually at a fork in the road in this country. Do we want our Constitution to stand or will we let it be chipped away little by little. This is what is happening - what you see is no big deal because you have not seen the build up of all that is going on and has been for the past 30 years.

Actually you are wrong, FDR and Eisenhower to name a few supported your definition of Socialism. Oh and many presidents before that who helped build roads and lights and many other parks.

Oh and Obama isn't even a socialist. None of them are the definition of socialist. But If Socialist to you means redistribution of wealth, than the vast majority of presidents supported some kind of redistribution.

So FDR and his lot were not called socialists?

And during the war they never curbed freedoms as much as now and took over as much as now?

I really can't expect you to remember all of that too clearly as you were a child at that time. Most likely a naive child as most adults were pretty naive then so it stands to reason they would have naive children. Birds of a feather.

Wake up and come to reality. You get your information only from a handful of resources and you've probably never left the country in your life.

The trouble with US citizens are they were mostly educated in a system that just teaches you what to think, not how. And their exposure to other nations and cultures is very limited.

If you really think this country is bad I want you to take some of your money and grab a friend and go to any reservation that does not have a casino. Or better yet go to Jamaica and not just to the all paid areas for tourists, go outside of their gated communities and see what it is like. Not very expensive but you will get to see just how good you have it after one bloody visit.

And moreover you will meet people that have more spirit than you ever had. People who live with nothing that are thankful for the least thing.

After that then come back to your home with the power and water running with the food you can easily buy in the market because there are no shortages of what they can sell. Look at all the buses in great condition, cars in great condition, police, fire and hospitals in great condition.

And then you can come on here and say this country sucks because of Obama and others like him.

Your 1950s malt shop doo waa pristine memories are nostalgic crap.

At that same time while you were rockin around the clock kissing guys and having fun with your Toni hair curl, there were people in your country that lived in terror that because of the colour of their skin. They were treated less than human. And they were treated like animals. Killed and strung up on trees like animals. There were people that because they liked a certain gender they either had to live in constant fear or were beaten to DEATH for such feelings that they could not even come to grips with. Feelings that they were born with.

YOU and I have it SO GOOD. Better than most of the people across this planet. We are blessed beyond belief if you want to put it that way.

But because the years changed and that you can't be heavy petting with a cute guy in your sock hop youth you think everything has gone to hades.

Well guess what? Your grandparents probably tough your sinful rock n roll and malt shop juke box dancing days were just as bad as you think now is. And guess what? Their grandparents thought the same of their roaring 20s sitting on flagpoles, 23 skidoo, speakeasy, raccoon coat flapper dress wearing kids were sinful and bad too.

And if we go back far enough I am sure you will find that generation was looked down upon for their bustle sizes, ragtime music and their plunging necklines and men not wearing an overcoat along with their vest or waistcoat.

You are out of touch with reality.

What an insulting crock of supercilious garbage you write to this lady. Your arrogance toward her generation is manifested in your attacks which reference absolutely nothing she either stated or implied. Where did she claim that her generation was "pristine?"

"Your 1950s malt shop doo waa pristine memories are nostalgic crap," you say. Where did she express that idea? She was speaking about what she sees as an erosion in our respect for the Constitution.

However, she may not have been talking about the culture, but I will. That way at least your anger toward all things Leave it to Beaver will be directed toward a more proper target. Because for decades now, every generation is right to recognize that the succeeding one into which they have survived is more degraded than the one before.

Now admittedly this is all subjective and will be difficult to debate. I mean, how can I PROVE that Howard Stern is more decadent than Arthur Godfrey, or that Lady Gaga is less healthy for ten year-olds to watch than Ann Margaret? I can't. OK, never mind. No debate.

I'm tempted to say that your disrespectful post itself is proof of my point. But how can I prove that "respect for your elders" is even a good thing? I can't.

We already did this one, but here we go again:

snopes.com: National Defense Resources Preparedness
No, It’s Not Martial Law, It’s Preparedness
The Defense Production Act has been in effect since the Truman Administration, and authorizes the President to direct private business to allocate resources to national defense as needed in a time of national emergency. Since the end of the Cold War, if not before, the Act has been used primarily to use DOD contracting practices to direct investment in new technologies that would be used for defense purposes, however it still requires the Executive Branch to at least plan for the possibility of allocating resources for national defense in the event of a national emergency in much the same way that rationing was implemented during World War II. Now, fortunately, we have not faced a national emergency of that type in the 50-odd years that the DPA has been in effect but that doesn’t mean that such an eventuality, brought about by either international crisis or natural disaster, should not be planned for. Despite that it was released as part of the “Friday Document Dumps” that have become all too common in official Washington, that appears to be all that this Executive Order is about.
As for the Executive Order itself, Ed Morrissey notes that all it really appears to do is update very similar EO’s that were issued by President’s Reagan and Bush 41, and their Executive Orders appear to do nothing more than mimic Orders issued by Presidents going all the way back to Franklin Roosevelt...

Good, we need a draft. Let's get some of those rich boys dying to make a war mean something instead of always sending the poor.

As much as I hate the idea of a draft I've been convinced by posters here and other places that the best way to break america's love with war is to force people to go to war against their will.
