I would appreciate it it people would respond back to my question.

I was reading an Christian article the other day and basicaly it said that different status levels/ rankings in heaven.

So my question to you , is do you think that there will be status in heaven, or ranks/ rankings, maybe not so much as we know them here on earth, but none the less , do you think certain people would be/are ranked higher , thus have more privilages/responsablities in Heaven and if so , why??

If you could give an detailed answer rather than a simple yes and no answer , I would appreciate it. Thank you.

There are Archangles, or Chief Angles, Micheal and Gabriel.

Then there are seraphims, who proclaim the holiness of God. These are mentioned in Isa 6:43, and Rev 4:6.

Past this there are Cherubims, the first angles spoken of in the Bible. They were responsible for guard duty in Eden and before the throne. Theyre mentioned in Gen 3:24 and Ps 99:1.

So, it seems as if there IS an hiearchy in heaven.

God Bless, metal.

...there certainly seem to be rankings among the angels, but it is hard for me to conceive that status would be conveyed in the way it is here on earth. We know however that Christ will be seated next to the throne...we also are told that some of the last will be first and that suggests perhaps status. There is also the part about the 40,000...and some would place the apostles and the saints above just plain folk.

Nobody in heaven is going to be disappointed or envious, because it will be so wonderful to there with the Lord in his glory, in his kingdom at last, and among all the saints and angels.

Wow, how can we get hung up on who is to be more important?

Some of the disciples made that error, in Mark chapter 9, and were plainly told by Jesus:

"the last shall be first, and the first shall be last."

The faithful servant is given greater responsibilities for having done well with the small one, (Luke 12.)

So there will be rewards, but we will not be arguing about them!

The psalmist says:

"Better is one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere: I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of the wicked."

In other words - it's just so much better in heaven than here among wickedness, that even the lowest position there is vasltly preferable.

See you there!

God bless, Susana

I am not sure if there will be a hiearchy in heaven or not for humans. The angels will probably be higher than us. Honestly, I don't care if there is or isn't. We will be physically present with God, not just spiritual as on earth. If I am the janitor in heaven, tell me where my mop is. ;)

I have wondered that as well. Probbly because I would like *sigh* to be the greatest, not so much for the sake of getting recognition, but to be the closest to God, like His special child. Doesn't everyone feel that way deep down? I will be mopping with the janitor though, and that is better than the alternative. Give me the bucket! Or sometimes I have actually pictured me (I painted a little last summer) fixing up everyone's mansion in Heaven, and just to get to be there, I would be thrilled.

Motor City Christian and Blessed2003 thank you,

you have blessed me so much with your comments about mopping and fixing up the heavenly mansions.

My job is cleaning - both at home and paid to do for others, and I sometimes feel down over my humble position.

This thread is reminding me I'm blessed when I serve, and that God loves me for who I am - His child, not for what I do for a living!

God bless, Susana

I thank all of you for your comments, I would agree with the general idea expressed in the comments, that there will be an hiearchy , but it doesn't really matter what our rank is . But I do have a few questions, just out of curiousity , do you think that there is anything we can do to determine your rank in heaven or earn our rank in heaven?? Also , this question is somewhat off of the subject , but , will we have the same personalities in heaven as we do here on earth?? I ask that because I know that things about us and will be different , but just how different??

I honestly think that we won't care what our rank is in heaven. Everything about Jesus' life here said that loudly. He has an upside-down kind of way about Him. Prostitutes and publicans would enter before the Pharisees. I think when we are in His presence, we will finally stop caring about who is above us and who is below us. That would be heaven to me, anyway.

1st "Do you think that there is anything we can do to determine your rank in heaven or earn our rank in heaven?"
Here is my conclusion, somewhere, I think in 1st Cor. it talks about (I am no scholar now) rewards and a man's work being tested by fire, if anything remains the man will receive his reward, if his works are burned up, the man will be saved but will lose his reward? What does that sound like to you? I might be misintrepreting it or something? HELP.......

OK 2nd "Will we have the same personailities in heaven as we do here on earth?

OH, that is tough, I can't think of any scripture to back it up. I would think so, otherwise we wouldn't be us. Maybe the only difference is the new unperishible body won't desire sin. Then what of us is left. I have a hard time seeing good in myself? ANyone else? If you see good in yourself in the right perspective tell me how?
Peace everyone.

HAHAHA, I titled it the big circle, and forgot what I was going to say! go figure.
I have heard that we are like in a big circle. No one first, no one last, we are all the same, maybe some of us have special purpose's according to us, you know, yours is more special because maybe you are a foreign missionairy and I am a housewife who raises a missionairy or something, but we all are equal, here anyway. (All christians) I think that is how is supposed to be, but more than not, I feel less than? So, the big circle is kinda out?

Im not so sure about different ranks apart from angels ,but I am sure that we will all have a different depth of love and perception of Jesus, because how we get to know Him here will effect how we respond to Him in heaven. thats why we must embarce the pain and sadness down here as things that will make us able to take in the fuller glory of Jesus one day..bless you john
