It is those who are sick that need a doctor
and or medical treatment for their health issues.
Like it was said by another on this forum, going to the doctor isn't forbidden but nor are we to
disregard our Lord either, we are to take our
troubles to Him, seek His Help/provision for
what we need in this life.
Just like when Peter's mother in-law was very sick, Jesus didn't barge in and ask does she love him or how much time she spends reading her bible? Jesus understood that Peter's mom was
sick, being not only God in the flesh, He's also is the doctor of all doctors-- our Lord gave her the
right medicine and Peter's mom got well immediately and waited on her houseguests.
One healed...
The Pool at Bethesda, the Lord healed one person there, according to scripture there
were sick people all over the place.
The Bible shows many people got healed by
the Lord, while some didn't...it is also revealed
in scripture that some illnesses are unto death...
like in the case of Elisha, who prayed to be healed but the Lord revealed it was a sickness unto death. Some illness are due to sin entering
this world, sometimes an illness can be due to
mankind's own neglect or malicious acts--like
when there was food tampering going on and
many people got sick, disabled or died because
of an evil person's act.
We know God is to be sought first in all matters,
we know physicians were sought in the Bible and that Luke (was also a physician, he accompanied Paul on many journeys.)
Paul had a "thorn in the flesh", which wasn't removed by God, even though Paul diligently prayed that it would be removed...God revealed:
“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Paul's response:
"Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me."
Let us remember this also:
2 Corinthians 1:3-5
"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.
Christ’s sufferings, so through Christ we share abundantly in comfort too."
Are you seeking support from other believers in
your own area? If so....
How is your church family responding to you
as you struggle in your afflictions?
If they don't know...
Gather up your own base of Christian support:
I know from personal experience that showing
support to those who are sick/suffering is important... so who's showing up to help you
bear your burden(s)?
Take part in communion/koinonia with them...
Reflect upon: Philippians 2:1-8
"So if there is any encouragement in Christ, any comfort from love, any participation in the Spirit, any affection and sympathy, complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind. selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves.
Look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.
Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. Becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.
