Hey all
Thought I'd share some experiences with fellow wordsmiths.
Ive been writing novels since I was 13. Ok, they weren't top quality, but they say you write terrible before you write well. I tried to get a bio published all about my disease but after refusal, I'm looking at rewriting it. Put good times in with the bad, work from an autobiography than as if someone else was writing it. Either way I think I'll have to look at self-publishing because it turns out my disease is too political. Being allergic to chemicals means that chemical companies could take offence. Not that I understand why: I don't mind chemical companies. It's not their fault I'm sick, it's just my crappy immune!
Anyhow, I'm going to start writing childrens' books because it seems made-iup stuff is easier to get published politcally speaking.
While doing this, I am looking at writing courses. Has anyone had experience with courses? I'm looking at one I can do solely on the internet and just wondered if anyone had any recommendations.
It seems in adult writing and sometimes children's, your grammar and punctuation has to be perfect before they'll even think of touching it. It's as if you have to be perfect to get anywhere. I undersatnd there's a lot of competition in this industry now, but I'd like to think I have some sort of chance.
I write a column for a computer magazine website about Pocket PCs and that's going great. I just pray that I will go much further in the future to my own books as well.
Ok, I think I'm done for now. Tell me your experiences. Do we have any published writers here?
