  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Any of you play the Star Wars TCG (Trading Card Game)?

It's quite good, and I am not big on CCGs in general.

Basic overview.

You choose light or dark side to build your deck (both sides can use a limited amount of neutral cards).

The play area is divided into three 'arenas' of combat (character, ground and space). To win the game you must control 2 of 3 arenas - by control your opponent has no forces located in the arena and you do.

The units, represented by cards, have 3 values: Speed (determines who goes first), attack power and defensive power. When you attack you roll a number of 6 sided dice = to your card's attack power against the defending unit of your choosing. Any roll of 4-6 on the die is a 'hit'. If the defender has less than the number of hits caused in his defense rating that unit is removed from play.

Of course, there are cards that you can play that increase the effectiveness of your units. Some units have special abilities that automatically come into effect or can be activated by spending force points, etc.

The first two sets of the game (Attack of the Clones and an expansion pack called Sith Rising) can be picked up for around $20.00 for a pack of 36 boosters (11 cards each pack) - not bad. Other sets can be had for more $.
