Well people aren't understanding at this point we are talking about masks in general, not just in the story this topic was about. Which was my point. Masks in general are not worn because people intend to do harm.

Indeed -- often they're warned because people do not wish to be harmed.

Actually, it looks like it IS against the law to wear a mask in public in some states, including Alabama and California (although CA reads like it's only illegal if the purpose was to avoid being identified once a crime had been committed, which doesn't really make sense to me. Maybe I'm misreading it).

Because in America, you're always arrested for being a possible criminal, and thrown in jail because chances are you were planning something illegal.

And since when is being armed a crime? Second Amendment, anyone?
