Finally - after many hours of coding, I've finally finished it, more or less.

It's 2 am here in Melbourne on a Monday night/ Tuesday morning. :)

Anyway, it's done and it's live. I've tested it as much as I can, and it appears to work well.

Basically, there are now 2 new forums:

1. Staff Praise
2. Staff Appeals

To post a new thread in these forums, you need to fill out a Staff Feedback Form.

To get to this form, you have a few choices:

1. Go into one of the forums and click on the Feedback button
2. Click on the Staff Team logo or name in the post of a Staff Member
3. Go to this link: http://www.christianforums.com/staff.php

All of the above brings you to the Staff Team Listing page.

Here you can view the different Staff Teams we have set up. Click on View to view a Staff Team and you will see a list of staff members in that team. Next to their names are Feedback buttons.

Click on a Feedback button and you will get redirected to the Staff Feedback Form.

You use this form to provide positive or negative feedback regarding a staff member to his or her senior staff team leaders as well as to open a new thread in the Staff Praise or Staff Appeal forums.

You may use this to praise or encourage the good work of a staff member, or to appeal against a moderator action, complain about a warning/ suspension/ ban or any raise any other staff issue.

Do not report posts here - you should use the REPORT button in posts.

Once you submit this form, a new thread will be either be opened in the Staff Praise or Staff Appeals forum and you will be redirected to the thread.

Staff Praise threads are open to all members. Staff Appeals threads can only be read by yourself and staff.

A PM will be automatically sent to you and to the immediate Staff Team Senior Member(s) of the Staff Team.

For example, if you provide feedback about a Moderator, a PM will go to all the Senior Moderators of the Staff Team. If you provide feedback about a Senior Moderator, a PM will go to all the Administrators of the Staff Team. So if for example you provide feedback for a moderator, and there are 3 senior moderators in the Staff Team, all 3 of the senior moderators will get the PM. Hover your mouse over the Feedback icon to see where the PM will be going to. The Staff Feedback form itself will tell you in any case.

This form may be used by suspended and certain banned members to appeal their suspension or ban.

Once the PM is received by the Senior Staff Member(s), they will investigate the feedback. They may choose to reply to the PM that was sent by you automatically or post a reply in the feedback thread that was automatically posted. You may choose to also PM individual senior staff team members as well.

It is hoped that this automated system will assist in member-to-staff as well as staff-to-staff communication, and expediate any appeals, complaints or staff reports.

It would also be nice to get some positive feedback too. ;)

Okay, I'm going to bed now. Report bugs here!

If I want to appeal a problem with the staff in general without singling out any moderator, how would that be done?
General feedback on how we run the show probably belongs in Forum Questions. I think this new system is designed for appeals of specific moderator actions; in other words, to give you folks a chance to sit down with us and understand why you received a warning, without getting shafted by staff who won't get in touch with you or Rule 7.

RT is correct - general questions can be posted and are allowed - just not specific moderator actions.
I tried that once and was banned for two weeks, so no I couldn't take the chance.

My complaint before I was suspended wasn't against any specific moderator but was directed towards the staff as whole questioning why they refused to remove a post that advocated the stoning by death of unmarried pregnant women, adulturers and homosexuals.
Three times I hit the report button and mentioned it a few times on a forum questions thread.
Nothing was done about it. It was finally removed and I was banned for complaining about the offensive post.

Now how can I possibly bring this subject up in the forum questions without risking getting banned again?

STAFF APPEAL SPECIFIC RULES:

(1) ALL Forum Rules apply in a Staff Appeal EXCEPT Rule 7. Further warnings and suspensions WILL be issued for flaming of staff - this staff feedback system is not an excuse to flame moderators.

(2) Members can only lodge a Staff Appeal on their OWN behalf - they cannot appeal on the behalf of another member. Such appeals will be closed and ignored.

NOTE: These rules are effective immediately but are NOT retrospective to be fair to members.

This is to prevent the abuse of the Appeals system by certain members who are using it to flame and verbally abuse moderators.

I don't know the circumstances of your suspension but if its about something specific like an action or lack thereof of a specific post then that can be interpreted as a specific action. I suggest PMing a mod and ask them about it first.

In any case you are not usually suspended or banned for breaching 1 rule - we have a specific suspension protocol.

Can we get some guidelines on what level of criticism of a moderator's actions, both specifically and generally, is acceptable?

I mean, if I believe someone is consistently biased, can I say so? If I believe that someone has shown an inability to comprehend one of the forum rules, can I say so? What if I think a staff member is "mean"?

This was the third rule I was accused of breaching but none of the warnings were valid.
Both had to do with my complaints about the planned baiting by certain members and staff of a long time member of Christian Forums.
An sr admin promised to look into it and when she never got back to me and I gave up.

We need a way to address CF as a whole without singling out moderators and without risking a warning.

I tried contacting CF through the "Contact CF" button, without a single response.
