CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Being on staff was a lot of fun. I enjoyed the work. I enjoyed those I got to work with. So I miss that. I don't miss walking on eggshells because two people had sensitive egos and are insecure.

I'm pretty much on the same page as Hammster. It was a lot of fun. I enjoyed it and I have lifelong friends because of it.
I didn't enjoy some of the politics of it though. That saddened me.

I regret my time on staff honestly, made a few friends, more enemies, witnessed too much drama, and at that time too much cowering to ~E~ and was given the royal boot for a flimsy excuse.
However i still show up at reunions like the drunk uncle

LOL, yea, but the sword fights, the talk-like-a-pirate days, the costumes, the staff teams and such were totally awesome.
I remember we came on staff at about the same time way back when. Those were the days!

LOL, oh yes, I remember the wonderful mock battles the two of you used to have (all in good fun, of course!)
and the squid head! now that was really a great helmet....
and then there were the Star Wars costumes and threads, Yeller's banana suit, Flag Lady's flags, etc.
but the thing i remember best was when we all sent each other Christmas cards!
My whole front door was absolutely PLASTERED with them!
that was just something totally incredible.

~E~ was ~Elsewhere~ a forum at IIDB, alot of campaigning went on in those days to change Cf from there, eventually Erwin listened, and that lead to the glorious reforms which killed the sites activity to a shell.
