I don't think the issues that brought us here should be up for debate, also how different groups(MJ or others, )view Torah shouldn't be up for debateOooooo I like! That way it wouldn't necessarily be axed, just moved so it wouldn't disrupt the more "tranquil" atmosphere in the general forum.
Shalom, Tishri1. Nice to meet you and see where you blossom

Holy Kisses to you as well, sis...and to everyone else as well who's comfortable (as I know alot of guys can still be weirded out by it). Had it happen to me one time when I was introduced to the leader of a homeless ministry I did work at..
Big dude/ex con who was pretty intimidating....And when he tried to greet me with a kiss, I backed up since I didn't know what to do--till he put me in check and said "Bro, I'm commanded by God to do this. Don't trip."
Really made me rethink some things culturally, as it was a way of blessing..and it didn't say to do so only when you're in agreement with someone--but for all believers. I think the same ideology applies today, as it concerns praying before posting and not choosing to walk away from a conversation thinking the worst of someone in refusal to either pray for them, bless them or lift them up
Yummy, yeah even thinking about the past few weeks I would love to nix the debate ideas till we get back to some good discussion firstI really like the book club idea too.
To tack on one more thought to the debate forum idea. Should it be MJ only so it doesn't turn into GT part too? That way only those willing to accept the SOP will be allowed to debate.
OK off to eat our shabbat dinner. Baked lemon/rosemary chicken, wild and brown rice and lima beans. BFN!
I can only imagine how much more wild it was for Christ who had people leaning on him as well..seeing how different culture was for them, just as it is today ( 311 )Lol @ your pic there EZ
Ephesians 4
Unity in the Body of Christ
1 As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received. 2 Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. 3 Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. 4 There is one body and one Spiritjust as you were called to one hope when you were called 5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism; 6 one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.

The same people that may argue against one another, if together in person, would possibly end up sitting down watching Disney movies like "Beauty and the Beast" or "Tangled" or action films from the 90s like "True Lies" and "Eraser" or musicals like "Fiddler on the Roof"/"West Side Story" and "The Sound of Music" when they have the chance...
If a book club got started, I think it'd be cool to engage in...but I think it should be open to others who are supportative of MJism (or at least not trying to do as many in GT do and go to war against it). Although I'm not against others that are Non-Messianic joining in since it doesn't seem right to be exclusive/only interact with MJish folks on everyday life issues, I do think it'd make a difference knowing that interaction wouldn't allow for things to be said or done against the SOP...and thus, those outside of MJism would need to keep that in mind
A dance club? I could get behind that!
Sweet....On staff We use to Skype or text as a group while watching movies or football games
It was fun I forgot about that
We also use to to have all night chat groups , those were fun too.....that would be great for Shavuot!

My garden's at Congregation Miskan David..and by extension, the study group connected with it known as Mivdad Shem HaKodesh ( here, where I'm one of the assistant leaders/deacons)--and I happen to connect well with other MJish believers who have a love for Holy Hip Hop ( #21 / #1 ) and houses of prayer
Small world after all...and glad to know that there's connection in the means of fellowshipWe are in a Baptist churches building too
Ok sticking a thread for a dance club for ya EZ....Easy G (G²);60095101 said:
It'd be sticky, of course, for others believing that dance should not be done in MJish fellowships...but then again, that's why it's a club since not all have to be in it
Would definately join in with ya if you make one...
Sweet....
Perhaps we could get that in action as soon as possible.
Praying the best for itOk sticking a thread for a dance club for ya EZ....

What can of worms? I'm not sure I understand what you are getting at. Not sure you understood my intentions either.Wheeeeeel I don't think we should open that can of worms, seeing how carried away it can get in here
Hi Tishri,
What can of worms? I'm not sure I understand what you are getting at. Not sure you understood my intentions either.
There is nothing so frustrating as starting a thread to discuss the finer nuances of a topic and have it hijacked by people that want to debate something else. The OP should be given a certain amount of leeway in determining what is off topic in their own thread (in consensus with Moderator approval of course). Is there a consequence to this line of thinking that I'm not seeing?
That's what I meant. What did you think I meant?

Hi Talmidium.
It's not unreasonable to put stipulations in an OP, as they can help define the scope of a discussion. If it's a specific question for a specific "group", it can be specified that one is looking for answers only from members of that "group" (although others are always welcome to post in fellowship in these threads); if it's a specific question for an individual, don't start a thread, send a PM.
Using stipulations to limit the scope of a discussion in an OP also helps staff when a post is reported for off topic.
Shalom Mark, Shalom Sacerdote,Good morning on this wonderful Shabbat.
Brother Talmidim,
In addition to what Supervisor Mark said above, if someone or several members start taking your topic and turning it into something entirely different like "how they milk cows in Buffalo," we have staff you can contact who will help get the thread back on topic if we find it necessary. For now, the team members laid out in this thread would be the people to contact for assistance. Make sense?
Also, if you'd rather make a kind post before contacting staff saying something like, "Brothers and sisters, as the OP I think we're getting off topic. Let's return to the OP. I appreciate your help and God bless you" might be all you need.
Now if you do this and someone starts giving you guff or it doesn't get back on topic then we still have the option of contacting one of the MJ Helping Staff as I said above.
Shalom, David
