St. Sophrony of Essex - "On Prayer"

More a recommendation than an OP to initiate discussion.

St. Sophrony's book "On Prayer" relates experiences that are way over my head, but at the same time, I'm glad I'm reading it. I get the impression that the author was far beyond me on his path to divinization, but at the same time that he was completely down-to-earth, practical, and actually humble. I have never read anything like this. The book is extremely readable and is making modern sainthood surprisingly real to me.

The other book detailing Sophrony's life which I read at the monastery of St John the Baptist itself is excellent, unfortunately there was no time to finish it completely. I was unaware he published so many books so this is useful information.
