I was a Water Control Officer at one time with our Dept of Water Affairs, and I lived amongst the farmers, 200 miles from the nearest city and 8 miles from a hard top road.J

Anyhow, one of the farmers gave me a live sheep once as a present. I could not slaughter it myself. So I took it to another farmer friend who did the dastardly deed himself, and even had the meat cut up into chops and cutlets, etc.

I’m used to buying my meat on a supermarket shelf, not on the hoof. No, I couldn’t be a hunter.

I love the outdoors, and do go fishing, but I can’t understand the tourists who come over to our country to shoot lions or even buck.

Can't wait to hear everything... I'm still on the hunt for St Nicholas that mom has.... and will continue to hunt unless I go under for the rather copious amounts of dust my dear mother has....

I hardly ever venture into the Theology fora... why bother if they're not going to believe what you say?

Not to mention if you're not going to believe what they say! Of course, I remember a time when I used to debate my eyeballs out trying to convince people that I was correct on certain issues and they were ignorant and, well, wrong. Then on some things I lost my own confidence in some things, and so I stopped debating, and then I realized debating seemed futile. But it was part of the journey, and still could be. Am I rambling again?

It seems to me we had a lot more sentimental stuff about "unity" and "reunion" back in the beginning, some of it posted by me.

I think the place has improved and become more Orthodox.

Well, you can count me in as a liberal person who is Orthodox and sticks around TAW, in spite of my not always agreeing with some of the politics discussed here and there and this and that and even some issues directly related to Orthodoxy. I trust my liberalness doesn't taint the place!

A very good idea. I'll have to bring a different shirt to wear tomorrow...it's pretty hot these days and I'd hate to come back to my desk after a walk in that stuff without changing first!

We also have many flights of stairs of which I may take advantage in hot weather.
