Thanks TAW for your prayers! I just got home safe and sound. Very tired but very happy. It was a beautiful service, then I got to have nice chat with Father and Matushka. I picked up two exellent books for the children and a replacment CD for me (I wore out the first one Father gave me) plus some lovely icons. Well school comes at a horribly early hour so I had better head off to bed!

How does the school year run in Canada? I thought it ran from September to the end of May.

On this side of the equator the school year runs from January to end November, as thats our summer.

I'm thinking of getting certified as a piano tuner so that a) I can have my piano tuned on my schedule, b) I'll have a career options that doesn't involve pretending to be smart all the time, and c) so that I can feel the power of having someone stay at home all day for no reason in hopes that I might actually show up to do my job.

My wife's uncle was a piano tuner and we seem to have inherited all his stuff. If you were willing to pay shipping I've got a tuning wrench and a ton of various hammers, felts, ivories and strings. There was also a piece of electrical equipment for tuning pianos (kind of like a small oscilloscope) which you could have used, but silly me fried it by plugging it in to test it, not realising that it was built for the U.S. market (110V) and not the European (220V).

I've tuned our piano but unfortunately the peg board needs to be replaced. The tuning pegs no longer have a tight enough fit and the piano is back out of tune in a couple of days.

I'm well. Seraphima is still going whaco over her job. I'll have to take her for councelling soon.

I bet you've been starved for rain. I won't likely see rain now till about September, but of course, anything can happen - and usually does.

That is how the University's run. Here in Canada we start the tuesday after labour day (the first monday in september) and run to the end of June. This year school is over on June 24. Next week is exams

I really don't feel like driving down there at all, just the drive, it's good when you get there... but we also have Toby Keith tickets for Sunday night so it should be good. Canadian school day.

8:20am - drag my sorry butt out of bed.
8:30 - be dressed and cleaned up
8:32 - grab lunch out of fridge
8:35 - snag a filthy poluting overcrowded bus
8:50 - arrive throw stuff in locker drag feet off to history (Class 1)
10:00 - ok I admit to being awake now. Have a tiny bit of juice for breakfast.
10:10 - English (Class 2)
11:20 - Sociology (Class 3)
12:20 - 1:10 - lunch.
1:10 - class
2:20 - class
3:20- go uptown to catch another filthy overcrowded bus.
4:00 - start supper for the little ones.
11pm - set out everything for the next day so I don't have to get out of bed one second earlier than I need to
