CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Howdy, here I am for my montly check in. I don't have internet so I only come on line when I go to the library. (Guess I should read more books so I come here more often!)
I have been busy visiting other parishes. I visited one about an hour from my home that is Antiochean. (I go to an OCA). I loved it! I went to visit because Fr. Peter Gillquist was visting and I wanted to meet him. He is a wonderful man!
I had visited this parish once during Lent for a "presanctified" service. My whole church went to visit. (OK, it was supposed to be the whole church, only six of us went.)
One of the things I love about Orthodox is that I am NOT OCA, I am "Orthodox" and Orthodoxy has enough variety that I don't see how I could ever get bored! I have also visited a Greek Orthodox church as well. Now that I am "home" (having converted to Orthodoxy) I love being "home" in all these different settings.
No other significant news except the mass the doctor thought I had in my abdomen doesn't show up on any X-rays. I guess it was a mistake. Regardless, I praise God for my health!

Guys are idiots when it comes to women (me included).
Caller ID is good. Ignore the person and don't give them attention either way. Other than that, perhaps it's time for a restraining order...

so i did my presentation. it didn't go so good, but it doesn't matter. i got free food and didn't sweat too much. now all i have to do is learn stuff and rock out for the next like four weeks. tomorrow night: the pub.
