My understanding is that cats hate being messy and if you butter their paws it takes them so long to get their paws clean that they don't think of running off again

I expect it's an Old Wives Tale over here I wouldn't know - I'm not a cat person

Last time I managed that I was in Portugal and the temp was over 40 degrees [ 104 F ] - I was almost flaked out in the heat and my husband was running about as normal !!

dang that is up there. in Ft Sill one time I remember it was 115 F......in the shade....
