  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

yeah, I didn't know what ya'll would think about me reading that

Just don't let it give you a case of the scruples. When I read it I was still Roman Catholic and I came away from it feeling like my soul needed a good scrubbing and as if my very thinking about anything was an incredible sin against God which would damn me for eternity.

That means she loves you.

I know! We had greek style bbq today for lunch - pilafi, yoghurt, pita, salad, sausages, chicken and keftedes (spelling/memory?) but done as patties instead. Mmmmmmmmmm. And baklava.

What? It needs eating! Andrew had baklava for BREAKFAST!

I made croissants from scratch (it's a pretty long process) and they turned out absolutely phenomenal. Right out of a French bakery... buttery and flaky. Mmmm... I was so happy since it was the first time I tried it and our friends were going crazy over them.
One of the wives in the squadron where we used to be arranged a Mother's Day brunch for the wives with kids who have their husbands deployed. So we skipped church to go to that and support them and bring some good food (hubby made chocolate covered strawberries and I also had made stuffed grape tomatoes (stuffed with goat cheese with herbs and garlic).

When Mrs. G. makes me baklava, I eat it all day long. And yes, that includes breakfast!

Jealous. Well not too jealous. We took our Mother out to the Melting Pot (Fondue Restaurant) for Mother's Day.

Sounds yummy

...I wish I'd brought more baklava home with me all gone.
