Spent a glorious afternoon just hanging out with Andrew and not having to worry about anything, it's cool enough to not have the air con on and have windows open tonight (it's been 107*F+ every day for the last two weeks, a few of those have been about 114*F) and I don't have anything to do tomorrow.

Just nice to relax

I know I need to - I'm exhausted and my eyes aren't staying open properly. It's just too hot really to sleep.

Awe. You have my sympathy, my mother was very upset when her 25 year old dryer broke down on New Year's day.

Well it did arrive this morning BUT since the outlet hose was shorter than the one on the old machine , the installers couldn't

After some headscratching we found a way round it - after doing a bit of emergency type shopping we got it installed [ not good for Raymond - he was totally knackered ] and it has now completed 3 loads Yes we have a wee drip [ less than half a cup after 3 loads ] from the junction of the new hose into the old one - so that has now been dealt with and the machine will rest overnight, to allow this sealant to harden .

Thank goodness it went this weekend and not next when I would have been totally at the mercy of workmen .

Knackered = shattered , utterly and completely exhausted

hmm - the knacker's van takes away dead animals from a farm.
