Hey Fotini Congrats on the pregnacy !!!!! And the freedom of eating... everything ....

I hated coffee smell and coffee in general during min...ah...also the smell of burgers...yak.... I loved ice cream yam....

Yeah, I'm discovering that my sense of smell is driving me batty. Somebody was cooking breakfast in the apartment across the hall from me yesterday....and I don't know what the smell was....but I almost tossed my cookies right there in the hallway.

You know what else? I was looking over some pregnancy websites (like thebump.com) and stuff has changed since I had my last one (10 yrs ago). Don't eat this....don't eat that....stay away from this....blah blah blah... I'll do the best I can, but I ain't makin' no huge promises that I can kick the caffeine habit totally.

The biggest thing I'm really keeping an eye on is the possibility of gestational diabetes....mainly because of how huge my daughter was when she was born.

Nope. The milk craving was funny though, because I hate plain milk. Couldn't get enough of it when I was pregnant, but after Kaylee was born, I went back to hating it again. So strange how that works.

The hubby and I are making guesses on how much the baby will weigh when it's born.

It could be you craved milk because your body needed calcium for the baby. One of the reasons women crave chocolate "that time of the month" is because of the magnesium in chocolate helps the body when it is in a bleeding state.

Often (not always) what we crave is what our body needs.

I love all things dairy but milk is just :yuck: it's sweet and has a horrible tendency to coat the back of your throat and linger........and ......... blech

Yinz are both crazy! I LOVE milk and can't drink enough of it. I can't eat milk chocolate without having milk to chase it with.

My younger daughter has never drunk milk .

She was breast fed till just over 8 months and once that stopped - so did milk.

There was no way she would drink it - oh I could use it in cooking etc but for a drink - not a chance .

She drank Ribena or other fruit drinks - diluted well , but NO MILK

Yup, I think it's insane. I've had friends who were so stressed having their first one because of all the rules that they couldn't enjoy the pregnancy at all.
I tell my gyn in Finland about all these things and she thinks it's insane.
Guess it's another thing we can thank this sue-happy country for...

Maybe this place wouldn't be dead if some people I won't mention hadn't hijacked the thread about the new metropolitan to talk about meat and barbecue sauce.
Meat and barbecue sauce are usually the things we discuss in the taverna on fasting days.
I would add that bbq sauce tastes poorly compared to real strong Dijon mustard.
