I had some nice vegetable soup for dinner last night. It was very yummy, had oregano in it, but a little too much salt for my taste.

NOBODY expects the Taverna Slaying! Our chief weapon is surprise...surprise and fear...fear and surprise.... Our two weapons are fear and surprise...and ruthless efficiency.... Our *three* weapons are fear, surprise, and ruthless efficiency...and an almost fanatical devotion to the Metropolitan.... Our *four*...no... *Amongst* our weapons.... Amongst our weaponry...are such elements as fear, surprise.... I'll come in again.

The secret is that there is no recipe. You take whatever is fresh, and you add it in whatever amount you like to some sort of staple bean, either chickpeas, lentils, blackeye peas, canellini beans, etc/ Cook with aromatics like onion, garlic, bay leaf, and whatever else you like. Cook till the beans are done and serve with crusty bread, and you've got a good lenten meal.
