Good morning to mothers and daughters who communicate through the tavernae , to those who watch films together, to those who wish the tavernae was canonical and got their wish fulfiled, to those who miss each other, and to other friends.

Hello everyone! I just donated blood today! I have not done it for 2 years now and I felt so good about it afterwards! I am also looking into other volunteer opportunities until I get a job! I also got fit for and bought new tennis shoes today for work outs. I am excited to use them, because my others were not a proper fit and causing worse pronation and shin splints. :(
WOOT WOOT.............it's been a good day so far!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well folks - giving blood helps other folks

It's an act of charity :)

Raymond has now had 9 units of APositive Blood since 3 February and of those 6 were in the last 10 days

Now, he will be continuing to get blood for possibly the next 5 months - so think how many donors are needed just for him - now think of the rest who need it too.

I can't give now - but I have in the past given 100 units and I know that I was matched to a Leukaemia patient who needed platelets over a period of a year - for that guy they had 12 donors who matched him - and we each gave platelets monthly. That patient survived .

It is good to see them back.

Hello everyone, I'm just killing time waiting for class, then going into the city to go to fellowship group tonight.

Should be good :) I love those guys...

Oh and I made cookies, too. Anzac biscuits, for the Aussies that know what they are. Oats and raw sugar syrup, mostly, and coconut..yummmmmm.

Emmanuel-A,

I don't know if it's too late or not, but if you get the chance I would definitely recommend visiting St. Seraphim of Sarov's Orthodox Cathedral. It is the OCA cathedral in Dallas, under Archbishop Dmitri. The church is beautiful... floor to ceiling icons... All the walls are simply covered in hand-written icons (they had an iconographer from Russia/Eastern Europe come to write them)l

I spent the 2006-2007 school year at the University of Dallas, and I attended St. Seraphim's whilst I was there. Fr. Joseph is wonderful, as is Fr. John (and of course, Vladika!).

Anyway, it is a beautiful church and I loved my time there. Enjoy your trip, Texas is a beautiful state (especially because it doesn't get as cold as up north).

ICXC NIKA,

Alexandra

Good morning to those who give blood to people who need it, to those who miss veterans including me (thanks guys, you make me blush), to those who kindly give me tips and addresses for my Texas trip next month, to those who iron shirts and to those who make cookies, and to other friends.

Emmanuel

PS : Does anyone knows the ROCOR parish in Dallas ? Is it nice ? I’m asking because, according to orthodoxyinamerica website, it’s the closest to my friends house.
I’ll have to go to St Seraphim Cathedral anyway, at least 3 people here and on OC told me it how great it is.

And, yes, it’s my first time in America.

Hey guys. Haven't been around for awhile, been pretty busy with the new forum and with work. Everything is really paying off though, Fr. Matthew of Christ the Savior in McComb, MS has joined us, we've had just over 1,000 unique visitors, an average of 95 per day... there are over 10,000 page views, an average of 1,115 daily, and things just keep going. Based on the stats we can estimate just over 1,000 visitors a month if things continue on exactly as they are.

We've implemented some new skins to give it more of a desert feel, we've really expanded the Patron Saints field, much better than what we had on OP, we just broke the 100 thread mark, and we've got 59 members, 55 of which are active. The chatbox is so active now we've had to double it's size. :D

All the time, effort and money I've put into this thing has paid for itself ten times over, and we just started about a month and a week ago. Oh, and we've got an OXC and MySpace group.

Maybe I'll see some of you guys around, there. Lots of old faces and lots of new faces, too. Come make some friends.
