So sad right now... I managed to get a stomach virus apparently so we have to stay home this weekned. I'm so bummed and upset. Hubs wanted to go to confession so he can partake at our other church... but we're going to try to go in two weeks instead.
I was sick this weekend and all of first week of lent last year as well. I'm hoping this passes quickly and doesn't get too bad.

I am headed out shortly to go to the church and help some women make baklava! I've never made it or seen it made, so it will be interesting!

My prayers for you, Jenn. The stomach flu is quite miserable. Eat some hot potato leek soup. I live on that stuff whenever I am sick.

I think this was the short form as I feel much better already. I'm still really bummed and we'll probably have to stay home tomorrow from church just in case I'm contagious or so. But I think we'll make it for first week of Lent... Then we'll try to go to MD in two weeks again.

Oh wow. I just got home from forgiveness vespers.

Today has been a powerful day, somehow, and I can't say why. I've spent the day reading and trying not to cry interspersed! I've laughed a lot too with my friends, but it has been hard, in a wonderful way.

Ah Justin that pic reminds me of Meteora Greece.. .with the monasteries ... here ... Is it like Grand canyon(minus the color) or what?

No ice cream until the end of the fast! Oh my!!! I don't think I can make it! That soy *wannabe* ice cream is just not appealing. Tried it once about a year ago out of curiousity. <put on your best little kid voice> But, but... it's just not the same!

Yeah I buy it for me my daughter ... I still have have her on milk... I do not think you can still fall into the kid....catergory though....... no matter if you put up a kid voice...

I know ... but she needs her milk that is something I cannot cut her from... until of course Holy Week... Believe it or not my hubby has faint episodes too... so I cannot make them fast the whole time.. I have to do what is best.. or we will have a very "sluggish" "tired" period.... I use some dairy once or twice a week so we can keep going. The non-dairy was not suggested by my husband's physician, his blood pressure goes too low.. and he does not do very good.... so we have made adjustments. Believe me I can live on greens and lentil soups.. I love veggies. But those other two (hubby and daughter) do not do good with it. They want to fast my daughter now she is going to an Orthdoox school she loves to fast... since all of the students do the same time... but she looks so pale and lethargic that I have to fight with her sometimes to eat some cheese and drink milk... People think that some do not fast because they like their meat and stuff that is not true though... some people have medical reasons not to...

Doing my morning check-in . Got lots of stuff to get done at home. We're having a St Patrick's Day get together at our house since we're only about 50 steps from the parade route on Saturday. Hubs is going to make omelettes for our guests.
