I just finished lunch. Grilled ham and swiss on toasted sourdough bread! YUM! Going to bed soon. I had to stop and get pigments for an icon that I am writing that is going to be done in Egg Tempera.

Thanks for posting this. I'd never heard of this Saint. This was very inspiring! I will ask him to pray for Mike's wife that her heart will soften and she will also become interested in Orthodoxy!

My church has the iconography of Constanine Yousis and the newer icons are done by my good friend Nicholas Papas.

My bishop is Bishop Thomas of Oakland (Antiochian).

This icon is going to a private individual.

Yesterday was terrible! We were swamped with hungry protestors! (good for business not for our health!) They actually supported us Greeks because they were for Secularism

Good luck with the icon Michael! I hope you keep us posted. I know that the problem with egg tempera is that it is not easy to finish as your eggs get "rotten" in the fridge and you end up using many eggs....lol... but the result is supposed to be exceptional. Also did you use rabitt glue for the foundation and a couple of layers of Gesso??

I did not put a cloth down on the panel because I use cabinet quality birch plywood which is very, very stable wood, and thus I did not need to use rabbit skin glue.

Good morning everyone! Today is painting day. My in-laws should be here any minute and we'll try to get the first coat on in every room today. It shouldn't be too bad since there's no baseboards to worry about. My father in-law primed all the walls yesterday. Thank God for in-laws!!!
