• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Does anyone know any details of this system and the trial wrok period, income limits? Any info or tips would be helpful. I have taken a step of faith and have retrained to get my RN license back. I should be done by mid August! My questions now surround the whole issue of how much can I earn before my benefits are lost. I wondered if any of you know where to find these answers. . . Thanks~!

I have a friens who is an RN, give me a few days to contact her, (her woks shcedule and all) she had a similar situation, some funds, vs how much her income is... Maybe it will help, maybe not, I'll see what I can do. Have a blessed day!

Putting you on my prayer list that the Lord can guide you ,nad keep all well with youand your situation. By the way, a leap of faith, when it is in the Lord's hands, is never a far stretch!

For the sake of simplicity, the first three months in the extended period of eligibility in which you have gross monthly income in excess of substantial gainful activity you will continue to receive your full of SSDI benefit regardless of earned income. This is called a grace period.

While in the extended period of eligibility any month that your gross monthly earnings fall below substantial gainful activity you are entitled to your full SSDI benefit check for that month. This will continue for the 33 months following your trial work period. If at the end of that 33 months you continue to earn above substantial gainful activity your Social Security benefits will terminate.

Thanks, some of this I foudn this am, but that one page is very succinct and easy to follow!!! I have figure that at the wage they offer me (which with my experience I should get more) I can work 7 hours per week and not risk my benefits. This is less than I am doing now for clinicals which has stretched my exhaustion/stress levels a bit. But this has allowed me to think more about what can I really do without creating moods swings and am I employable with those limitations. I do have at least three options. Thanks, anyone's prayers for these next ten months or so will be greatly appreciated as I have some major decisions to make and will be facing old porr coping habits adn I have literally walked into a very stressful environment at my current clinical. One of my coworkers does not take correction well and is currently not speaking to me because she feels threaten by me! SIGH!!! If she only knew how totally nonthreatening I am. . But God knows and is in control!!! And He has a plan!!!
