  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Senior Seminar in English (even though I'm only a junior :D) there's one girl, three guys in this class. I'm the lone girl.

Can you tell I'm an English Education major? :D lol

I wish I had more room to take some history or psychology classes, but 17 hours is enough!

Well, here's my list of classes. I have mostly hard classes this semester, only one easy one...

Speech
Freshman English 2
Humanities 1 (which is basically like a World History class.)
ASL 2

ASL is my easy class, the rest are hard. But they're required so I can get my AA. After this semester I have one more semester until I get my AA. Then another 2 years for my Bachelors degree. I would have my AA after this semester, but I screwed up my first semester in college and ended up having to retake two classes. English 1 and Government. And the English class is a prerequisite to basically everything else I have left to take.

Fall semester of 2009 I will be taking the following:
Humanities 2
American National Government
Pottery 1
Photography 1

The last two are simply just because I need the credits to get my degree. Otherwise I would be short by 6 credits.

I'm taking

Biology 1010
Intro to Art (basically the history of art)
English 1020
Psychology 101

So far:
Biology is a lot of fun because I love it...the teacher is okay. He's a bit boring, but he really knows his stuff. I love biology so it interests me.

Intro to Art is amazing!!! I've never taken to history very easily (except for egyptian history), but this class is amazing! My teacher is pretty awesome as well. My aunt had her when she was in college and she was one of the teachers that inspired her to be the graphic designer that she is now. This class is really helping me to appreciate art a lot more.

English I think, will be my most difficult class. I've never been very good at arguing and I've never liked it much at all. My teacher just makes it worse. She has a really annoying voice which makes you tell that she thinks that shes better than everyone else. She spent our whole first class explaining how much better her class is compared to whoever we had in our 1010 class. Then today she argued why it was so terrible that we voted the English Only bill down and why it was good that prostitution was made legal during the Civil War.

Psychology hasn't met yet...our first class was canceled and I'm not really sure why. I guess I'll find out monday. I am really excited about that one, though. I've always been really interested in Psychology and I hear that my teacher is really good. So, yay!
