Do any of you have special things that you cherish pertaining to your child? Ex: Ring with their birthstone or a locket? I'm looking for some ideas.

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Her first outfit, I put it in her hope chest. Other than that, I keep a book of all of her firsts, such as first word, first step, first tooth. Now that she is older, all the things that she has said or done that was just funny.

i have his frist out fit i have his bands from the hospital. ive kept his out fit which i got him dedicated in. and his first shoes. the pram shoes and his walking shoes.
if i had a girl id buy them a baby braclet and keep that. but braclets arent for boys, so i just kept out fits.

I have one of their first outfits, hospital tags and newspaper from the day they were born. I also have a memory book for each child.

I have a necklace that has each of their birthstones on it. They are seperate little drops. DH gave it to me with DS #1 birthstone on it when he was born and then he's given me the other ones to go on it as the other 2 were born.

I have kept hospital tags, name cards (the cards that sit on the baby's bed to show who's baby it is etc) coming home clothes, cards people give when you first have the baby.
Anyone keep the cord stump? I have heard of people doing that. It's not for me, but some people have done it.

I have a cedar chest full with all of their first outfits, photo albums, baby books, birthday cards. Some of their decorative bottles and their first rattles. My son was very attached to his soothers and when we confiscated them at 26 months I washed the newer ones, put them in a container and kept them. A couple times a year we pull everything out to have a look. Its a good rainy day activity.

I have a necklace with two little 'boy' charms on it with their nicknames engraved on the back. I hope the supplier doesn't stop making them because i'd love to order one for each child we are blessed with!

I have also kept their outfits that they came home in & hsp bracelets, their first lock of hair, their first Christmas outfits, dedication outfit, newspaper from the day they were born, their first homemade quilts (from grandma), photos galore!, & I will keep their lovey's when they tire of them.
I keep all these items in a big plastic bin....i have one for each child.
