If you believe that there was at some point a global flood that covered all the mountains: [BIBLE]Genesis 7:19[/BIBLE]
Then where did the water come from? If it used to be underground, then the crust would have to have a porosity of about 50%; in reality, we find that it is about 1% due to the extreme pressures (source: http://www.eric.ed.gov/ERICWebPortal/recordDetail?accno=EJ278607 ). If it came from the atmosphere, then the sheer enormity of the amount of water present beforehand would introduce similar problems, as well as raise the question of why it didn't rain beforehand.

If you want God dump all the water and then suck it all up later, fine. But where is the evidence that is was ever enough water on the surface to cover all the land? The is no evidence that there was a massive world while flood in the rocks.

Not to mention that God moving that much water should have been noticeable by someone....

There are exactly two options:

1) It didn't happen
2) Magic

if you submit to #2, there's really no meaningful discussion to be had as to the mechanism.

Science cant explain it then?
Where talking about God, all powerful, who created the heavens and the earth? God made the earth flood. Does the water he used have to be on the earth?

See, not that I don't admire the faith involved, but it's explanations like this that make me wonder why creationists (not you specifically, but in general) are desperate to find scientific proof for YEC.

If they think science can explain it, they're all over it no matter how fallacious. If they think science can't explain it, they just pull a GodDidIt.

Ah yeah, sorry for going off topic there.

I'm not a geologist so I personally couldn't say - but I think science can't answer where the water came from mainly because there isn't the evidence for it? Kinda like saying why can't science prove 2+2=5?

Science cant explain it then?

Yes. Science explains it by pointing to the complete absence of evidence for a recent global flood. If no such flood has occurred there is no need to explain where the water came from or went.

Where talking about God, all powerful, who created the heavens and the earth? God made the earth flood. Does the water he used have to be on the earth?

An all powerful creator God could have flooded the earth and removed all the evidence, replacing it with evidence of ancient age and no global flood. However, most christians seem to reject the idea of God being a deceiver.

But you must keep in mind that some Christians seem to THRIVE on such a concept (while all the time hand waving the deception away).

Man oh man, the delusion of self contradictory religion is SO tasty! :)

Then where did the water come from?

I don't know where all the water came from, but the Bible lists two major sources. In my opinion, God could have sent 10 times the amount of water, if He would have so decreed it.

If they think science can't explain it, they just pull a GodDidIt.

As they should --- after all, God claims He did it --- in writing.

Let's give credit where credit is due.

(And they should pull a GOD DID IT --- CASE CLOSED.) ;)

What about Muslim scientists? Should they just put "Allah did it, Case closed"?

I don't tell the Muslim scientists what to put.

GOD DID IT --- CASE CLOSED should suffice.

Amazing isn't it? When Creationists are faced with the aspects of evolutionary theory they don't like, they resort to pitiful efforts to 'scientifically' disprove its tenets - more than happy to tell scientists their business and where they have erred.

However, when asked to explain, in the same terms, the mechanisms responsible for the ridiculous claims in their fairy stories, they cowardly hide behind their pathetic catch-all...."It was a miracle of course!"

So by 'they', you mean just Christian scientists. But, since not all Christians believe in Creationism, only True Christian Scientists should use Goddidit.

How? Water is virtualy incompressible meaning it won't expand significantly.
An upwelling of the sea floor in a couple of places would do it. Like a lava dome on a huge scale. The ocean floor wouldn't have to raise much to flood the entire earth.
