◘ Do you feel that if a teacher is trained to carry a firearm he or she should be allowed to carry it at school?
○ Do you feel that parents should be held responsible for the actions of their children who are under 18 years of age? Is your answer also the same if this child has shot and killed someone?
◘ How do you feel about Russia claiming the land around the north pole as their own?
○ Do you believe that high profile princes should be permitted to actively serve in their country's military? Should they be permitted to go into war zones? Why or why not?
◘ How would you feel about your country having free health care for all of its citizens? What would the positive aspects be? The negative aspects?
Trained teachers? No, I don't think they should still be allowed to carry arms at the school for several reasons. First, what kind of message is that going to send to students? You're talking about the most impressionable people on earth. Regardless if the teacher is trained, 20+ years older and fully capable of being responsible, all the student will see is that guns are ok. Age will not play a factor, pretty soon that student is carrying one to school because their role model does. Second reason is accidents. No matter how trained you are, kids find everything and accidents happen. It's just not a good plan.
Parents responsible? That is a very hard question. I think it would really depend on the situation. I think the parenting in this country has really sort of taken a side step where parents aren't really there as parents like they should be. Kids are learning from peers, school, what they do when no one is home, not the parents that could be there teaching them right from wrong. And I know too that some kids, for whatever reason, even with all the parenting in the world, still are going to do horrible things. It's sad but it's true.
Russia and the North Pole? I'm sorry but that land already belongs to tiny little men in green suits and pointed shoes.
High Profile Princes? My take is, if it's their choice, they're people just like the rest of us aren't they? I find it commendable that a high profile prince in this day even would want to go to war. The rich and famous have not exactly made self-sacrifice on the top of their list. They have taken their name and used it for a safety net and don't quite serve like the rest. Then again, this has been going on for thousands of years. If they feel so compelled to go to war for their country, it's their choice like any other isn't it?
Free healthcare? As someone that hasn't had healthcare in about 5 years, I'd say it's great! Honestly, I can't afford healthcare, even offered by my workplace. The cost of living is too high to take more from my checks for a service I may only use once a year, if that. I think this country might be a lot more healthy because of it, quality of life would improve. On the negative side though would be the cost to the government and what other taxes or penalties would we encounter to cover this.. Viscious cycle.
