  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Just came to post about this, actually.

We went and saw it last night with very low expectations and in all honesty, it's one of the best movies we've seen all year. The trailer makes it look really stupid but turned out to be phenomenally done. Nicolas Cage does a great job with it.

I don't make a point of reading reviews of movies, as I never like the ones the "official" reviewer likes. But this one paints a very negitive review of the movie but in the ned gives a B+?

Review: 'The Sorcerer's Apprentice' - CNN.com

If you write an article 5 paragraphs long, and write two sentences of positive, that is not a B+. If you purposefully distorted the negitives to
turn people off of a fairly good movie(B+), then that is wrong.

Of course, now I am confused. I usually like the opposite of the reviewers favorites. So if I go by the text, I should see it. If I go by the rating I should avoid it.
I will probably see it. I am still on record as to disliking all professional reviewers, and their opinions of movies. Most of the time, reviewers A+ movies are the worst ever, imho.

It's true, when reviewers give high scores, the movie is usually horrible for the viewer to watch and enjoy. I never understood that but I think it has a lot to do with pretentiousness.

We just went with our gut instinct on this one and really really enjoyed it. Will be buying the dvd when it comes out for sure.

Just saw it. Good movie. The ladies in the theater liked Nicholas Cage and the leading ladies on screen were easy on my eyes. Acting was good. Special effects were amazing as to be expected. The story was entertaining too. Go see it.

It is about magic so if you boycotted Harry Potter on moral grounds you better not go see this one either, but if you don't see it you will miss out.

Thought it was good. A fun movie where you don't have to think much, enjoyable and well-paced, loved Nicholas Cage in it, the special effects were amazing, there were some funny lines. Orientated mainly toward kids but adults can still get into the storyline.
