So glad you ask! I am not romantic at all. If a guy goes sentimental or romantic on me, I experience anything from sea sickness to anxiety attacks.

Given the choice, I'd rather spent a whole evening listening to how he dismantled his car and made two out of it ...

I'll tell you something that I did once (glory be to God and not me for it though!)

I arranged a "date" with a woman...she's kind of social but 'public' shy if you know what I mean. Anyway, we had this timeslot planned for a week but I coaxed her into accepting the idea that I would never tell her what the date would be until she actually experienced it.

I called her up about ten minutes before the date and told her that we were going to lead a worship service that night. She frrrrrrrrrrreaaked. Haha! She said that she couldn't sing worth the tomatoes that would be thrown at her, but I said something on the order "So what? God nor the people listening are going to care. Just worship." So I drove over to her house and picked her up, and by then she was all excited. We went over to the local hospital to the ECU ward, and out came all these sweet old folks. I grabbed a guitar, we sang five worship songs, and I led a little sermon which was my version of the Four Laws, challenging all the patients to tell their doctors and nurses about Jesus. She got a chance to witness to the patients. One of the older guys got all buggy-eyed and convicted...the Holy Spirit really lit me up that night. It was AWESSSOME! Afterwards, my lady friend was very very very happy to have done that, to have the opportunity to step out of her shell. It was nice to force that fear out of her. I don't know if that's very romantic; that's more like Fatolia's brute-force kingdom of God tactics...I haven't gotten far enough in a relationship ever to do the card, flower, poem, song thing.

I prefer to do a lot of little things... and 'just because' kind of things... My current g/f recently got laid off from her job, and has been pretty upset... So I went and picked up a nice bouquet of flowers and a box of her favorite cookies and I set them on her doorstep for when she got home... with just a note that said "Just because I wanted you to smile today..."

Something I've always wanted to do... (successfully).... either maybe for valentine's day, or to propose even (if and when the time ever comes again)

From the doorstep, into the house... all the way leading into the bathroom to the shower, lining it all the way with chocolate kisses... and then in the shower, have the bottom covered in rose petals and have some roses tied up around the top --- and then either with a note, or walk in behind her and say "Now that I've 'kissed' the ground you walk on, and showered you with roses - will you be my valentine?" or something like that...
