Yesterday, my husband and I were at the grocery store. The manager was bagging our groceries and asked when our baby was due. I told him she was due in April and he was like, "That far away. You look like you are about to pop."

My husband and I stood there trying really hard not to laugh because most people comment on how small I am carrying and at my last appointment I measured a little small. In fact, it has just been in the last week or so that you could really tell that I am pregnant and in the right clothes, it just looks like I have gained some weight.

I think is is so funny how everybody has an opinion about what size you are supposed to be. Poor man, what will he think when I go in over the next few months and really do look like I am going to pop?

me either, grr, I wouldn't mind if they asked first, but you just don't go up to someone and start messing with their belly. Someone did that to me, and I wasn't pregnant at the time!
^_^ Once in high school...me and one of my best friends went out on a friday night and at a local hang out..well this girl comes up to her and rubs her stomach and asks when the baby is due...she wasnt pregnant and was only about 17..she was so mad..and the girl turn bright red...I felt bad for my friend.
With me I can relate to the belly touching thing..I am only like three months but already I have family members patting my belly and yelling into my stomach, they actually bend down to belly button level for this!...which drives me nuts cause I can only imagine what the baby is thinking ^_^ "why are these people yelling at me"...I picture my kid in a couple of years in the corner sucking its thumb rocking back and forth when it hears the words "hows my baby doing"...but, I just kind of try to smile and make a bee line for someone else in the room that I know is not a belly patter.

Oh my gosh! That happened to me last week! A lady in line behind me at the grocery store said I had beautiful children, then asked if I was expecting. I said yes, and she asked when I was due. I said the end of May (although it's been changed to June2) and she just looked at me like, 'What? ? ? Your belly is HUGE!'

I'm overweight to begin with, and the baby is pushing my belly out so I look bigger, I guess.

I think the rule should be: Don't ask unless you are SURE the woman is prego! ! I certainly wouldn't want to make someone feel bad by asking about their big belly when there's no baby inside! ;)
