  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I wear black shoes with brown pants all the time. No one's ever said anything to me about it (except my grandmother who I don't listen to regarding clothes).

I've also committed the grievous fashion sin of wearing socks with sandals. No one said anything to me about that, either.

Go crazy :)

I agree that fashion "rules" are silly.

Brown and black are actually perfectly fine to wear together. I guess it's about balance.

This guy appears to be wearing a black belt (or no belt?) with brown shoes:

That looks fine to me.

1. I hear frequently you shouldn't wear brown shoes with black belt and vice versa, can you wear dark brown flip flops with a black jacket (khaki shorts) ?

2. i had more but i forgot them, I'll come back later.

Ugh. I'm old fashioned. I could not bring myself to wear brown with black or blue with black. I always buy black shoes. Or red shoes. I never buy brown. I always think 'what would I wear them with' when my purses are all red or black or a combination of white/black etc. I just cannot carry a black purse if I wear brown shoes. It is all in how you were brought up, I imagine - whether parental influence, the era, or cultural.
