Enlighten me. I'm genuinely curious what you believe it to mean. If you assert that the eternal human spirit that GOD breathed into Adam has carried down to us, what is it that is being born again? If to be born again assumes something has died, what died?
Heb 2:14 Since then the children are sharers in flesh and blood, He also himself in like manner partook of the same; that through death He might bring to nought him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;
Heb 2:15
and might deliver all them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.
I'm sure you've heard the story before, how satan tricked Eve, and she ate us out of house and home. GOD said in
that day they would surely die, well Adam and eve went on to live around 900 years more if I remember right before they died,.... so what exactly died that day?
Well the same thing happened to them that happened to satan and his followers, they were separated from GOD. Satan and his followers didn't just disappear and cease to exist with that punishment, no, they were booted out of heaven down to the earth. Their separation from GOD caused them to have fallen spirits, or darkened spirits, and now they start wars down here on the earth.
We suffer from the same outcome, a fallen, darkened human spirit that needs regeneration by the blood of Jesus. He came in our form to save us, not angels.
Being born again means born anew, and born from above. It is that human spirit part of us that needs to be regenerated, or born anew, to have a right relationship established again with GOD.
