  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

According that thing you call the Bible, it seems that the prayers of the saints are a necessary part of worship. And not just some of the saints, but ALL of the saints.

Rev 5:8 And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints.

Rev 8:3 And another angel came and stood at the altar, having a golden censer; and there was given unto him much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne.

Rev 8:4 And the smoke of the incense, which came with the prayers of the saints, ascended up before God out of the angel's hand.

Saints are not all dead. Saints are saved people. You and I are saints. I don't see a problem with this scripture.

Catholics also believe that our prayers are "up there.." but we ask the Saints to pray for us just like we ask our brothers and sisters on earth to pray for us. We don't see much of a difference.. except that since the Saints are in heaven, their prayers are powerful cause the Bible says "the prayer of a righteous man avails much"
thinking that we "dont need the Saints prayers" is to us a lot like thinking "we don't need each others prayers"

Not realy, Monica. Letters, email, telephone, or face-to-face. That is how we address each other hear on earth.
We don't see much of a difference..
Love is blind.;)

In fact it is exactly like that. And we do ask for each other's prayer. Us saints ask other saints right here on earth.

This is yet another example of an appropriation of terminology that confuses word meaning in a way that reinforces establishmentarianism.
And that isn't very supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.
