Many Christian shave argued that homosexuality must be a grave sin because "God destroyed Sodom for the sin of homosexuality", however, the only refference I read in the Bible about homosexuality in Sodom was when the men of the city came to Lot's house with the intent of raping two angels (who happened to be male). Leaving aside the fact that Sodom was already condemned at this point. I'd like to ask Christians who subscribe to this argument:
What do you think would anger God more: The fact that the men of Sodom were planning to gang rape two innocent strangers or the fact that their chosen victims were men? If the latter, what do you think that this says about your God?

Hey, i just learned something new! I've never made the connection between Sodom in "Sodom and Gommorah" with the word "sodomy".

Sodom even rhymes with bottom. Cool! I'll have to share this fun linguistic factoid with my friends.

According to the Bible God destroyed Sodom because of two other sins, inhospitality and pride.

Oh, I know many use that story in an attempt to bash homosexuality... but that's not what it says at all. You have to remember, the Hebrews of the time were desert nomads. Being invited into a dwelling could be the difference between living and dying. Sodom was cursed because the men the crowd wanted were GUESTS in Lot's home. He had a sacred duty to protect and care for them... to the extent that he would offer his daughters up as a diversion.
