CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

yes i can understand that but i've been single my ENTIRE adult life so i'm not too fond of the word lol i prefer to be called 'not taken'
You're not alone on being a "dating virgin", to coin a phrase, but I don't see why one should be offended by the term "single". I don't think anyone means anything rude by it. It's a factual description of the way I live my life, if an incomplete description.

I know what you mean though.
I guess there are different reasons that "single" has become a negative thing, but it's just a status. I personally think, with others, that "single" is a great phase. Married is a great phase. They are both great.
Being good at being single means a more likelihood that we do good at being married. It's where you get to know "you" so you can compliment someone later as their partner. it's the crawling phase before the walkin. It's very important longterm, this singlehood is.

I don't really mind being called single... I may not always like being single, but there are good sides to it. At least for me there are.

wow, i guess i am the only one who thinks this....awesome. I'm fully aware just how 'important' single-hood is though. Thats not what I was getting at. And I don't get offended when someone does call me single because that is what I am. Its when those few incidents when they do mean it in a negative way that bother me. I'm proud do be a "dating virgin" as you put it. I guess to put it more accurately (and forgive for not stating this more clearly) I am tired of having to use the word 'single'....BUT its the stage of life I have been in for awhile now so I'm getting better at accepting it and like i said previously some days are better than others.

To answer the question though, it doesn't really bother me at all most days. I have my moments though.
