  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Fluctuating between 14-16 degrees right now. Add in the wind chills and you're looking at negative temperatures.

The best part?

It's supposed to get colder tomorrow. Yay, more vodka!

Low of 33 this morning, high of 65 by mid afternoon. California dreamin' baby....for all the hate we get, I'll take this.....

Yeah but you're selling yourself short with regards to the seasons. Do you even know what snow looks like? Tastes like? ;)

34 right now. Yay sub-tropical climate.

It's a rather sub-tropical climate in the PNW. Never gets really cold. Never gets really hot. And as far as rain, we don't tan--we rust since except for two months out of the year, it's nearly always misty.

I do miss the seasons though, and a good snow storm once in awhile (like for Christmas.) And I'm not at all fond of the very short growing season.

I've only ever lived in Oklahoma so my seasons are as follows.

Summer: The Sahara with grass!

Fall: Only slightly colder than summer yay high 80's!

Winter: Today ice storm and 10 degrees, tomorrow 65 and sunny?

Spring: Finally rain! Of course said rain comes in the form of tornado producing severe thunderstorms.

Just be glad you live somewhere where the weather can make up it's mind. Honestly if it decided to snow in summer and get into the 100's in winter it wouldn't surprise me.

Yes. We get in the car, drive 45 miles up to the mountains nearby, play in the snow, enjoy making a snowman and having a snowball fight, get it out of our system and drive home to our snow-free, black ice-free streets that we don't shovel out in the morning nor scrape nor have salt in the roads...I'm fine with this system! :p

Fall in Central California is gorgeous. Chinese Pistaches, Gingkos, Maples, Liquid Ambers, Bradford Pears, all with red starbursts, banana yellow, orange fire, purples, you name it. We have a lovely Fall that lasts from October into early or mid December. Spring, however, is quite short. Summers, super hot and dry, around 90 to 106 degrees, no humidity, very dry.

Yeah but you're selling yourself short with regards to the seasons. Do you even know what snow looks like? Tastes like? ;)

You call that cold?

What do you do in Wisconsin when the Cub Scouts winter survival camping trip is scheduled, but the weather forecast calls for a high of 30 below?

A: you postpone until it gets cold, you can't learn any winter survival skills in balmy weather like that.

What are the 4 seasons in WI?

A: Almost winter, winter, still winter - and construction.

What are the 4 food groups in WI?

A: Cheese, beer, fish and brats.

My bathroom pipes froze Monday night and I had to shower at the neighbors Tuesday. Everything just came back this morning. I hope they stay unfrozen for the rest of the winter.

My posts are in fahrenheit.

Crystal - my friend who lives on top of the mountain had frozen pipes last night [still not sure if it is unfrozen today]. She lives in a trailer. They always have problems without pipes being in some basement or insulated area.
