  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Warning: Rant ahead, I need somewhere to vent

I am so overwhelmed with things right now. I have so much work to do for school, and it just seems like I will never be finished. None of the classes I need are offered when I need them to be, so it looks like I won't be finished as soon as I had hoped. I am thinking I will just slow down a bit and take it easy and finish when I finish, I mean I will remain a full time student (have to to keep my insurance) but I have been putting so much pressure on myself to finish in 2 years that it literally brings me to tears when I realize that I might not be able to finish that soon. I don't know, I'm just having trouble juggling everything and its mostly my fault because I procrastinate, and then when I get stressed its even harder to get my work done. My fiance has been very understanding, we were hoping to be finished with college by the time we get married (May 20, 2006), but now it is looking like I will still be in school, but he will be finished. Its not a big deal I guess, but if feels like a big deal to me right now.

Anyone else having troubles like this right now? If you could send up a prayer for me that'd be nice! :)

I know how it feels! I was planning to get done with grad school in a year and a half, but it may be two years, since the summer classes I need are not being offered! I'm just taking my time with it! I am sure if you are not done with school by the time you marry, your fiance will still support you in finishing up. Hang in there and take some time out for yourself to relax (like a nice, long bubble bath, a good book, and some chocolate dipped strawberries).

I definitely know how you feel. I was supposed to graduate this year, but I found out I am missing some classes, so I have a whole other year to go. It is so overwhelming. I was ready to be done, and now I have another whole year! But I guess God has a plan in all of it. I will have to be patient (something I am NOT good at ;) ) and see what it is.

I will definately pray for you! I know how tough scheduling is because I'm a double major and am trying to figure out how to fit everything in so I can finish in 4 years. It's tough when everything you need is either offered in the same semester or not at all!

Anyways, when I become extremely stressed from my work load, my boyfriend and I have a "cartoon night" where we either watch old cartoons, dvd's, or cartoon network. It may sound silly, but it does help take some stress away. Even if I'm really pressed for time, we just watch a quick half hour show and it really helps!

Good luck in your classes and God will let everything work out for you ;).

Thanks for the suggestions VeggieJulie :)

I have to call a bunch of people today because I will need to take some classes at different colleges, but there is so much work that goes into that, but its either that or finish a year later. Ugg, oh well, hopefully all the work will pay off :)
