Hmm...I wanted to post about one of these things earlier, but for some reason I just waited with that. Now I just have more things to be grateful for, so I should at least post a Praise Report now.
First thing is that it seems I'm losing the parking place for my car in some time. Since I'm disabled and can't walk much, it's important for me to be able to park close to where I live, so I was kind of down about this, and didn't really know what to do. However, about two houses away, there is a big shop/administration building for a computer-shop chain. They have parking space, too, of course, but it's mostly for customers. So yesterday I wrote them a letter to ask if I could possibly park there.
Of course I didn't expect an answer for some time yet, and to be honest I didn't even expect a positive answer. Like, it's not normal to be allowed to park in someone's private parking lot, even if they are almost your neighbours...right? So I was more than a little surprised when there was a letter from them in my lettterbox already this morning. What's more - their letter was like "yes of course they would help me with solving parking problems!" Also, it was written all in this nice, touching tone, so I even cried when I read it.
So, this problem is solved now, and I thank The Lord for doing this for me!
Also....this is kind of strange. It's about my laptop computer - look:
The other day I wanted to check if I could record TV-programs on my computer. So I downloaded some TV-recording software from the net. Suffice to say, my computer apparently didn't have a TV-in, so I couldn't record anything. But really, that didn't bother me that much, because I just wanted to check if I could.
However, what DID bother me quite a lot was that I got some hijacker on my computer after installing the TV software-thing. There was suddenly an extra toolbar in IE, lots of stupid links under "favorites" and some other nasty stuff. I looked up some information about this from another computer, and found out that removing it wasn't a simple process at all. (HijackThis or other Spyware-prevention softwares apparently couldn't delete it by themselves). So, I was more than a little annoyed at that. But, I was sitting in my room trying to fix it by running Spybot SD, but I really didn't expect that to help much. (It said in my instructions that I had to do much work to get rid of it - in fact so much work that I got discouraged and tried Spybot SD "just in case"). Of course, Spybot SD didn't seem to do much good. It discovered some things that had been hijacked, but not the actual hijacker. When I checked, the extra toolbar and everything were still there. Blah.
So, I just turned off the computer and carried it with me downstairs, thinking I'd try to clean it by following the instructions later. "Later" turned out the be much later than I had planned, because I really didn't feel like I wanted to even start doing all the complex stuff I had to do. But, when I decided to try it, I remember praying about something like "please don't let me mess up too much" or so. After that, I turned the computer on...
...now, here comes the kind of strange part - when I turned the computer on, there was suddenly no trace of the hijacker - the toolbar was gone, the extra links where gone, there where no filenames connected with the hijacker when I tried to search for them...everything was fine!
Needless to say, I was amazed! Actually, I'm still amazed to the point that I wondered whether I should post about this or not
To me, it's just a sign that He cares for all things in our lives - not just the big problems, but also for our hobbies and things that we do just for fun. Isn't that amazing?!
