So if it quacks like a duck, what other animal could be quacking?

I was having this thought "if it quacks like duck, it is a duck" so as to mean, this is the obvious answer.

However, the flaw in this saying also points out that what appears to be obvious may also be incorrect in a specific context, or with a particular application or attitude etc.

So what else could quack like a duck?

Parrot or Mockingbird come to mind.

If it quacks like a duck, it's probably a duck.

the thought of a sheep in wolf’s clothing comes to mind in that not everything is as it outwardly appears. Just a thought on the subject my friend.

I was in a pet store years ago when I had a conversation with a customer that I couldn't see in the next aisle. After several moments I realized that it was a mynah bird. The conversation was in English -- no quacking involved.

I've always heard that if it walks like a duck and it quacks like a duck, then it's probably a duck. If you're depending on just one qualifier, then you have no confirmatory evidence.

Ever heard a gadwall quack? It sounds like a mallard attempting to converse in English. The inflection is almost human.

Wikipedia has an interesting article on the Duck Test.

Their version is: If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then it probably is a duck.

That reminds me of in acts when Paul told the church for one last time that when he was gone wolves would come in and feed on the flock. Those would have been the pharisee remnants. So millennia later, who's a sheep who's a wolf? By their fruit you know if they're sanctified to God, or to some pastor's doctrine,

If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck, we can hope and pray it hasn't been abducted by aliens and eating anything that comes close. :D
