This has probably already been discussed ad nauseam in the past, but what made you change your mind?
I tried to discuss that at the time, and it was met with unpleasantness. I tried to be as gentle as possible, but perhaps the problem was still in how I presented it... However, as I don't want to be the cause of any strife, I will PM you instead.

It's about the size of the Lutheran Service Book, or a bit wider. About like those old red collegiate dictionaries, if that means anything to you.

I'm looking at it on my shelf, and it's similar in size to the books next to it: Mueller's Christian Dogmatics, Grudem's Systematic Theology, and Bercot's Dictionary of Early Christian Beliefs.

Wow! That's very helpful! I actually have Bercot's Dictionary of Early Christian Beliefs, so that gives me a very good idea of the size. Thank you! :)

I know that the Reader's Edition is about 800 pages, but just how big is it, size-wise? Would it be unwieldy for me to carry on a plane or read on the beach while we are on vacation?

It's about the same size as the hymnal, but about half again as thick, if that helps.

I ALWAYS read the acknowledgments in a book. I mean, if the author(s) put 'em there, they're meant to be read right?

I need to get going on my BoC reading. Maybe I'll do that while I wait for Mike to get ready for grocery shopping. *G*

Well, so far I've read 40 some-odd pages of introductory notes, the Creeds, Luther's Small Catechism, and the introduction to the longer catechism.

So far, so good. I really like the Small Catechism. I love woodcuts accompanying each page in this edition. The version I read last year or so didn't have those, and the translation was more archaic. What a great little book to use with young (and old) people for instruction in the faith.

DH just finished reading the Small Catechism (at my request), and started into the Augsburg Confessions (just 'cause he wanted to).

Radiata,
why not? If it is because of time, one needs to make time. If it is because you don't feel like it, then this is definitely the time to read the Bible.
Let's put it this way...

This week I have 2 exams, 2 quizzes, 3 homework assignments, prelab assignment and lab report due, optional homework assignment... I have literally seen my eyesight go several times worse than it was a week ago. On Wednesday, I studied for 4 hours. Thursday was 6 hours. Friday was another 5 hours. Yesterday was sunup to sundown. Today was sunup to sundown minus church. There just isn't time!

In fact, I shouldn't be on CF now! I'm on the computer studying some more and I should cloose this window immediately.

And this is in addition to going to work.
