• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

After almost two years of depression and now adrenal fatigue, just want to say that it does get better as an encouragement to anyone reading.

I was broken, distressed, and suicidal. I'm getting better day by day. The Lord's strength and grace is amazing. I was so bitter, and some days I feel very alone. However, I feel that I have something to live for.

I'm praying that we all just hold on and begin to heal from our brokenness .

I suffered from depression for years, and was suicidal as well. I had to cry out to God constantly. It was a humbling experience and showed me just how needy I am. Both for God and prayers/support from other people.

It gets better. A lot better. Do not give in to the suicidal thoughts.

Message me if you'd like to talk. I can also recommend some Christian books.

Yes I found that to be the truth as well -- with God it does get better - :amen:- if we turn away from the grip of depression and turn to Him in our distress - He does come and rescue us. The hard part is to disagree with the depressive feelings and to hope in God's truth, but He is well worth it because He makes us stronger than depression can bring to bear.

Be blessed in your walk with God!

how do you get better?

For Starters

I basically had to cut off all unnecessary stress and drama.

I'm taking things day by day.

I pray in the spirit more. When I feel frustrated or irritated, I seek help or encouragement

I read scriptures

Get plenty of rest

I've started taking natural herbal supplements for energy and hormonal balance

I keep a prayer list

I've accepted things I cant change until God is ready to change them

I'm so glad to hear that. I pray that I may someday find that peace and reassurance from God as well.

Hi,

I'm glad you are doing and feeling better. God does indeed help us but sometimes we have to get out of His way in order for us to see that help.

You mention adrenal fatigue. That is very interesting as my doctor recently mentioned that possibility to me and suggested that I obtain certain vitamins and herbals to see if they would help. The doctor that has a lot of information and research on the matter is a fellow named Wilson. I've obtained the products but haven't started using them yet.

I pray the very best for you and yours.

that is VERY VERY VERY good advice!

the get plenty of sleep is important
if you do not have a normal sleep schedule it is easy to get mixed up and confused in your way of thinking
i have never known a lot about natural herbal stuff
but I do like tea, the caffine helps get me going but it does not make me jittery like coffee, tea is also good for you

and ofcourse reading the Bible and praying is great advice

Thank you and yes I searched Dr. Wilson's website and the symptoms were similar to mine so I decided to go to a Holistic doctor and indeed my adrenals were burnout. Vitamins and herbals will definitely help. I feel like a brand new person already after taking them daily.

I encourage you to look into it seriously as it seems you already are, you won't regret it !

Thank you :) I was told to let go of caffeine COMPLETELY. I haven't missed it actually but I have been tempted to a Starbucks run. I will drink herbal teas (with no caffeine) from time to time.

I didn't know how important "rest" and sleep were but they are imperative. It really helps to stay sound
