For much of history, and for billions throughout history, yes, God is the default. For a lost minority, groping in the dark, it may not be, but since you are bankrupt of alternatives that have the least merit, who cares?

That's absurd. Medicine had it's roots in history long before the theory of evolution was around. Jewish medicine is even based on some books from the Jewish bible.

Modern medicine uses testable and repeatable processes. Evolution theory has nothing to do with it.

Might Genesis be factual?
Factor out the 'faith factor' for just a moment and consider the question logically.
Why not?
It's as good an explanation of origins as any other out there.
No one alive now was alive 'back then' so nobody knows for sure.
Theories are just stories plus agenda.
Factor back in the 'faith factor' and some know whom they trust.

Were you there to see that God had a hand in the writing of any of the words in Genesis? What about to see if they recorded anything real, and if so, did so with accuracy?

We do have reasonable ideas as to how stars and planets come to be, how mountains and rivers form, even how humans came to be. The ideas are testable as well.

We have not proven those ideas to be true, that's beyond our grasp. But we can show them to be good ideas that stand up to scientific testing and subsequent modification if need be.

On the other hand, do you think that rain falls because God speaks to it, telling it to fall, that physical forces have nothing to do with it, or that God physically knits babies in the womb, and we have no idea how babies form - just because the Bible makes these claims?

There is an angel God put in charge of the air, or atmosphere and weather of earth apparently. In the Tribulation, that angel changes the whole thing, and we get hailstones 100 pounds each. So of course God set up the present state we live in, and He can change it whenever He wants. Satan also has some control over weather such as when he was allowed to hit Job, and blew down his house.
