Small sin, big sin....same

What do you think? e.g:Kill as a sin and lie as a sin...Same or kill as a sin is bigger sin?

Well, since there are only two outcomes (based on christianity) either you go to heaven or you go to hell. It really depends on what god decides.

However, I have heard that god sees a sin as a sin, the size doesnt matter. However I dont know the scripture info to back this up, nor do I personally believe that.

To God any sin is offensive. That said there are degrees of sin or rather degrees of punishment for certain sins.

John 19:11

Whether the consequences of an act make it any more or less severe to God, they can certainly alter the severity of a sin to us, and that matters. Perhaps to God a malevolent slap is the same as prolonged torture, but I can safely say the latter is worse simply because it hurts more.

sin is sin is sin. i f even one little sin can keep you from Heaven then i don t think there is much difference in which one you commit. I think we rate them big or small to try and justify our behavior and make ourselves feel better

All sins in the eye of God is the same. Sin is Sin!!! There is no big sin or a little sin. If you sin, you will spend an eternity in hell if you don't repent of it. One sin will keep you out of heaven.

Good news: Any sin will be forgiven if you truly are sorry for comitting it before you die.

What matters is what is deep inside your heart, good, or evil. If you truly follow what is good, the path will lead you to heaven.

Sin contaminates man's spirit just as a poison would contaminate food if it were added to it.

If someone baked a pie and told me that there was just a little bit of poison in it, and offered me a slice of it, you can be sure that I wouldn't want even one little bite.

The Bible says that the wages of sin is death, so even a little sin is toooo much.

Supposedly God cannot be in the presence of sin. However, supposedly all people are sinful at birth.

Why is God unable to tolerate something that is innate in his creation? Does this constitute a weakness on his part? When it comes to tolerating sin, am I stronger than God?

I would never condemn my child to an eternity of torment. Why would God do so? Does this make me more compassionate than God?

Man was created to be holy.  The fact that sin is a part of man is because of man's fall, not God's.

No you are not stronger than God.  God's holiness makes sin so repulsive to Him.

You are also not more compassionate than God.  God gave Heaven's most precious treasure so that man could escape an eternity of torment.  The price has been paid for our redemption by Jesus.  Could you die for someone who refused to even know you?  He did.

God is EVERYWHERE! He just doesn't want sin in heaven. If you prefer to sin, you would bring this sin with you to heaven.

God doesn't condemn anyone. He also doesn't make anyone come to heaven. The choice of where you end up is completelly yours...

And mans fall was caused by a creature that god created. Since god knows all, he must have known the creature to be bad and yet he did nothing.

Adam and Eve were created to not know the difference between good and evil. So they were tricked into eating the fruit because they didnt know any better, because god wasnt watching them or this animal god knew was evil. so, god got mad at them and kicked them out.

Doesnt sound like man is dirrectly responsible for their own fall to me.

God created humans with free will. If He only created heaven, every single one of us would go there whether we wanted to be with God, or not. He made sure that EVERY ONE of us will be able to choose where we spend our eternity.
God wants all humans to come to Him. He will not force anyone to come and spend eternity with Him, nor will He ever force you to go to hell. If you want to be with Him, you will put your trust in Him and He will guide you to heaven.

Genesis 2:16,17  And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:  But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it:  for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

God made the rules and the punishment for breaching the rules crystal clear.  There could be no doubt that eating of that tree was forbidden, yet man made the choice to disobey God.  To obey or disobey is a CHOICE.  Man makes that choice and then must live with the consequences.

If you re-read the verse...it is pretty apparent that God TOLD them it was wrong and that if they did it they would bring death upon themselves.  Man cannot claim ignorance.  God's wording was very clear on the subject.

Are you saying god gave many the knowledge to tell the difference between good and evil before they ate the fruit?

From the way I read it. Man could not comprehend good or evil until After they ate the fruit. So god told them it was wrong to eat the fruit, but since they cant comprehend good or evil, then they didnt really understand god. If they could comprehend good and evil (which is needed to understand wrong and right) then that means god gave them the sin.

Im confused now.
