I used to listen to them when they first came out. Their songs filled my state of mind with anger, angst and agressiveness.

A great Christian alternative to them is Demon Hunter. Though they sound better than Slipknot.

I think they are freaks from Haties if you ask me! I do not think ANYONE (considered a christian, or any other person for that matter) should EVER listen to them! I do not see why anyone would dress/act/sing/be like that! I think people should listen to something, just a LITTLE bit more benificial (maybe switchfoot, pillar, 12 stones, Thousand Foot Krutch, etc.)

Not to seem picky but this really should be P.P.S and P.P.P.S.

Anyway, as garbage and useless as Slipknot may be, the use of the adjective "Satanic" should be used carefully. Scripturally, Satan prsents himself as "an Angel of Light" and his ministers are "the ministers of righteosness." (2 Cor 11).

Satan has no birthday and the scriptures afford him no symbols. To grant him either is to honor him.

Now, some symbols are equated with Satan by Satanists, and for that reason they should be avoided for appearance sake. But on their own they are powerless.

Marilyn Manson (and similar) may be anti-Christian, but they're not fooling anyone. Nobody is saying "Marilyn Manson is the way to heaven! He has the true gospel!" No, he just represents the worst of fleshly desires.

Satan prsents "another Jesus" and "another gospel." His workers are standing in pulpits deceiving people. The flesh doesn't need Satan to be evil (although he can use the flesh). There are three enemies: the World, the flesh (the self), and the devil.

Sir Robert Anderson warned "Satan is not in control of this world's vices, but of its religion." Satan is not in brothels and porn houses (the flesh leads men there), he's in charge of false teachers and false religions.

So, actually, the church is in less danger of being misled by Slipknot then they are by some CCMers who profess false doctrine. Slipknot appeals to the flesh and we should be aware of that... but some CCMers "slip in unawares" (Jude 1-5) and "deceive many."

Just some thoughts.

Well...SORRY! I was just expressing MY thoughts... I know people down here who have started listening to that stuff...to say the LEAST... and it DOES lead to goth (I know a particular person who has done this) and then witchcraft and is getting into a few things that CAN FOR SURE LEAD to a VERY destructive DEMONIC ROAD! I know... I have been around it. It is like that one LITTLE LIE that someone tells, it CAN lead to worse. (If you'll lie, you'll steal, if you'll steal you'll kill---just an OLD saying...every sin is on the same level to God!)... DO YOU NOT THINK THAT WITCHCRAFT, DEMONS, GOTH, OWIGI BOARDS, ETC. IS JUST A TAD SATANIC.... WELL, REGARDLESS, THAT IS WHAT I THINK! I don't know you guys or anything... but that is my opinion! I am sorry if I DISSED Your Band, or anything like that, but I just felt that had to come out! And, I wasn't trying to be rude, if that is the way it sounded, but it is the truth. =) Chat Later! =)

hmmmmm i know what i said earlier, but after listening to Slipknot today for the first time in 3 years, their music now seems somewhat appealing to me again (not in the weird way) But i do know what some people have done after listening to their music aswell as Korn and Murder Dolls e.t.c. and i don't agree with that.

Another reason I know a lot about this stuff is that my cousin is a satanist. I am not joking! It is weird! I mean, coming from a Christian family...it is very odd! A lot of the things that got him started was music...LIKE slipknot and stuff...I did not SAY THAT IT WAS or anything...I am just saying that he STARTED on this stuff. Down here, a lot of people start the whole satanic stuff with that...and believe me, it DOES NOT START OUT satanic...but eventually, after a year or two goes by, they start acting weird, and they are into a lot of that kind of stuff, and are killing black cats on Halloween, inflicting pain on themselves, peircing their skin in weird places, getting into zodiac stuff, offering things to satan, etc.... they CLAIM to be satanists...now I do not know if they TRULY are, but they CLAIM it, and it you ask me...that is just as bad! I am not saying that if you listen to that kind of stuff, that you are going to become a satanist, I am not even hinting at that...I am just saying that IF you start listening to it...be carefull! I mean, seriously! It CAN get weird...and influencing. Just watch yourself, who you hang out with, what you are being INFLUENCED by, etc. Satan is going to decieve you...I mean, it may seem innocent, like listening to something like slipknot, korn, papa roach, system of a down, etc....but once again...it CAN lead you to things that you wish that you would not have gotten into... The flesh says, 'oh...it's okay...it is just some harmless music' or something like that....but you may want to be a little precautious about your faith...I mean, I like to TRY to keep myself pure...ya know... I mean, we all have faults, but I try not to listen to hardly anything secular. I would rather listen to something more BENIFICIAL to my faith and safe for it. But, I think you'll be okay with some of the music, unless it starts cursing, putting races down, God down, Christians down, etc. That is when it does start influencing you... Well, that was just a LITTLE advice from me. (You can take it or break it, I could care less...it's up to you... I am just trying to help/warn you.) I will chat later!
