  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Lately I haven't been sleeping very well through the night. I will wake up at about 2-3am and not get back to sleep til about 6-7am. We get up at 7.15am...
I am exhausted all of the time, i don't understand why i am not sleeping the night through... I usually get to sleep about 10.30pm.

Is this something that happens when you are pregnant, or am i just strange??? ;)

Its just really hard cause I have things i need to do during the day (like work, housework, shopping etc) that i am finding it increasingly difficult to do...

I need some good nights sleep... any advice???

oh come on sleep is overrated ^_^

Yes there are a few things to note here. First, caffeine? My body completely changed how I was affected by it once I got pregnant and became a mommy. I can't drink caffeine at dinner or it effects the depth of my sleep. For 6-8 hours caffeine actually stays in your system!! Its true!

Second, so long as you are taking your prenatal in the morning, you can start taking Calcium and Magnesium vitamins at night right before bed and they will help you get better quality sleep.

Yep. I go through bouts of insomnia.. not to mention I am one of those peeps that once shocked awake or knocked out of a solid slumber- I am up for better or worse :(

DH has woken me every morning around 6 before he leaves since Tuesday night... only this morning I slept and didn't wake back up until 9. I haven't had any caffeine and here I am still up at almost 1am! argh! and I need to go to the grocer tomorrow to get some fruit and veggies.

I don't drink caffeine anymore. I stopped drinking coke when I found out I was pregnant.

The first couple of weeks after i found out i was pregnant i slept SO well. Nothing would have woken me. And it was quality sleep.
Now it feels like I'm not getting the good sleep... On my days off i used to have a snooze in the arvo, but i have stopped doing this now, so hopefully i will sleep through the night.
My husband is away til Monday, and i thought it may have been him waking me up and keeping me awake... but nope... last night i woke up again and couldn't sleep. And i was alone in the bed! So its not him!
I don't know... i am just hoping it passes soon. Cause its really not that fun!

Well at least it is getting me a little more prepared for motherhood!!! You have to look at the positives here!!! ;)
