  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

its a little 'old school' but it is very funny, though it does have a bit of soft-core hentai.. it is overall a very good anime..
You do realize fanservice isn't hentai, right? Hentai is out-and-out porn. If there was any hentai in Slayers it wouldn't be marketed to teenagers and would carry an 18+ sticker.

Not necesarily. Blockbuster used to have Ranma with an 18+ sticker on it for being a 'sex comedy'. But, Plastic Little and Heavy Metal wer in the family section. Most American stores don't really have a clue. They see 'cartoon' so it must be for kids.
Yami no Matsuei (Descendants of Darkness) has a flashback scene which, in silouette, shows male x male rape. But it's only 13+. Plus, what's 'adult' to many western cultures is perfectly acceptable for kids to the Japanese. Like Ranma-chan sitting on a stool taking a bath in the nude. Or Happosai grabbing her breasts and running around with a bag of girls panties with one on his head.

Maybe so, but those series aren't considered porn (by general consenus, not counting clueless Westerners who know nothing about the medium), just heavy on the fanservice with a couple of scenes of questionable material (add onto that the tendency for Americans to overreact to the cultural difference, etc., etc.). I don't see Blockbuster putting Night Shift Nurses or L.A. Blue Girl in the Family section, though (or at least I sincerely hope I wouldn't). I wouldn't exactly compare Happosai fondling Ranma to *ahem* tentacles.
