From what I've read, left hand is the shield hand. Can't swap it.

Where have you seen this?

There doesn't seem to be anything "official" either way. The only thing that's been announced is the separate buttons for the two hands and I think people just logically extrapolate it.

Edit: It all seems to be pretty much rumor at this point. I maintain that you can put shields in the right hand, as it only makes sense with the way the dual wielding system is said to work. I posted a thread on the Skyrim forums to see if there has been any confirmation about this (or maybe someone will confirm it there O_O). But in the end, I guess we'll see on November 11th!

Edit: Well, the official forums all say no, and one person is referencing the tweet you are mentioning. That's lame. Guess I'll have to be a left-handed battlemage then. Weapon in left, spell in right.

That makes me sad... There should be the option to have your character left handed, or just choose which hand to wield it in. Like I said, I probably wouldn't use it myself, but the option would be nice.

I've actually played a first person shooter where your character was left handed. It was kind of awesome, actually.

The reason why is because of animations, mostly. It's hard enough to animate blocking, shields bouncing off projectiles, and everything else once. Doubling that effort is pointless when deadlines approach.

I still demand left handedness though.

Maybe. There hasn't ever really been mods for it in the past, precisely because of the reasons in my last post. But the more flexible dual-wielding system in this game might inspire someone of the appropriate talent to do it this time around.

its a little off topic, i know everyone is talking about swapping weapon hand

in oblivion[pc], there is a mod called unnecessary violence, its possible to swap weapon hand from right ot left and vice verse or two handed

i do hope the modder jumps to skyrim too

Z0mgosh less than two weeks left... I don't think I could wait for an Amazon order lol. I'd go order it from Gamestop or something if I were you. You get a sweet cloth map with it if you pre-order it from them

I pre-ordered it from a local shop in my town. We have a Gamestop, too, but I have my loyalties with this place, because they always treat me well, have excellent prices, and I get pretty good trade value for my movies and games. The only disadvantage is I don't get the map But that's okay, I'll forget all about that when I'm traversing the entire map with my character, killing every moving thing within eyesight.
