"Dragons you say?"

If you use a dragon shout too much in town such as Spirit wind to move quickly the guards come and tell you not to.

"My favorite drinking buddy?"
Oh, sounds like you're just scratching the surface of Skyrim!

"Let's get some mead."

Hi guys. I just got this game a week ago and I'm really enjoying it.

I made a Reguard warrior focusing on archery, block, enchanting, heavy armor, and one-handed skills. Can anyone give me some tips on them and also which weapon to specialize in (sword or ax I don't really like maces that much).

"Hands to yourself sneakthief!"

Frocus EXPLORE build up your fighting skills...especially the archery before you go after any dragons (trust me I died enough times trying to stab a dragon) try building up you smithing too to make your own armours and combine that with the enchanting.

I'm more the sneaking around assassin so I went for a Khajit (night vision and claws)

"Those Redcar they have curved swords, curved swords!"

Skyrim's DLC was announced. "Dawnguard."

I found some info about it while back, but it was officially revealed the other day. I'm ridiculously excited.

There have been clues in Skyrim patches about updates to come. Some are more vampire animation. That along with the name "Dawnguard" lead me to believe it's some kind of vampire hunting faction.

I just found out that skyrim has a short story line (3 acts) and a LOT of side quests. So should I do side quests first or wait till I finished the main story line while doing side quests along the way.
It's completely up to you how to proceed. What I realized pretty quickly is that there's no way you can do everything with one character and not have a completely unbalanced/unrealistic character. I finished the main quest with my first character and also did a fair number of side quests on that playthru. Then I did separate characters for the Mage's Guild, Fighter's Guild, etc.
And separate characters for different playstyles and races I wanted to try.

The opposite extreme would be to do what my brother did. He actually did play just one character and maxed out all the skills and tried to do pretty much everything. But to me that takes all the fun and spirit out of the game.

Do it how you want; once you beat the main story, you're still free to explore the world, do all the side quests, and generally live in the world of Skyrim however you wish.

That would be totally wicked. I love vampires. I hate Twilight, though. Real vampires don't sparkle. Just ask Angel.

I'm playing a thief dual-wielding Orcish daggers. Why did I not try this before??
FUN!
Love the power attack. It's like you're weaving a pattern of Win.

Tips for dual-wielding:
-Don't smith or enchant your weapons or else you won't be able to Favorite them properly.
-They have to be the *exact* same weapon to Favorite properly. Two steel swords, two Elven daggers...you get the picture. You can dual-wield with any two one-handed weapons. But if you want to switch your offhand weapon to a spell or switch altogether to a bow you'll be pretty annoyed.

My son plays that way. It's cool to watch him sneak and slash.
I haven't actually managed to sneak up on anyone with the daggers yet. I did with my old steel swords...but that's not the same.

I'm on that long and winding road to Riften and mostly fighting outside. Not a great place to sneak.

There's something like a X15 Bonus for daggers right?

Yes there is. I believe it's called Assassin's Blade and it's a perk. Once you get that, and if you're pretty decent at sneaking, you can basically kill anything with one swipe.

It worked well enough with one dagger. I can't wait to try it with two.

You have to have your sneak skill boosted up a bit to get it and there are prereqs for it as well...and they are good ones to get as well. So it's *totally* worth it to get that perk. A win/win.

There's a castle next to a bridge on that road, full of bandits. really fun.
I think I know which one you're talking about...cleared it out last night! Lots of straight combat, not much sneaking. And I had to reload a few times.

There's another fort that's full of mages further to the west. Now that's tough for a thief! I used my bow while sneaking then charged in with daggers drawn. That worked well enough, but still a tough fight. Lost of charred flesh...mine!

I have the X15 damage for one handed sneak kill...haven't met anything yet that it doesn't kill in one go..other than a Dragon. I prefer to use a bow and arrow when sneaking and take them out from a distance but use a powered up great sword when I'm forced to fight one on one.
