  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Schwarzenegger does all his tme in the weight room. If you spend 4 hours a day there, no doubt, no matter your body type, color, build, youll get what you're working for. I'm more a runner and biker. I dont spend a lot of time in the weight room, so my muscle mass is a bit less and a different look than that of the Mr. Universe types.

Blessings

Also, I doubt you inject yourself with half the stuff Ahnold did.

I just wanted to throw out there how great swimming is. It not only stretches and lengthens your muscles, but tones as well. This is often overlooked as being great cardio, but do not be fooled. Add swimming to a great diet and the other exercises these well-informed posters mentioned, and you will be well on you way to being trim and defined...

It's no secret that every top Bodybuilder does copious amounts of steroids. The same applies to powerlifters, although not quite to the same degree.
Are steroids permitted for competitors? Do they screen participants for steroid use?
 Always so much to learn on these thread

There are events that involve drug testing, but the big ones like Mr. Olympia, Mr. Universe don't simply because it's an accepted part of the sport.

Wow, I did not know that?? Do you think that is why some of the Body builders in the weight rooms (I work in) act so strange? I stress the phrase 'some of'. J

Right, and anything above 10 mg. of steroid use (Mr.Olympia) was considered harmful and the candidate immediately disqualified. I know Arnold admitted to have used steroids but not every famous and well-known bodybuilder has used them. For example, Ronnie Coleman hasn't used any, at least that's what the drug tests and his own word has said.

Coleman is on huge amounts of drugs. There can be absolutely no question on that one. The man is a genetic freak, and could build big muscles just mowing the lawn to be sure, but he is not natural. Also, take a look at Coleman's abs some time and you'll see what is usually referred to as gh gut, usually attributed to the use of growth hormone. They claimed that points were going to start being deducted for this, but I really doubt they'll follow through.

Coleman claims he's natural and credits creatine as having helped him a lot. The reason for this is simple: endorsements. Who is going to believe an admitted steroid user when he says that creatine is what got him looking like he looks now?

Even on the amateur level there's pretty widespread drug use. Chase Sullivan Doyle, easily one of the best teenage bodybuilders, posts over on Wannabebig and openly admits it, and has even posted his cycles.

Also, no one would inject only 10mg of test, because it wouldn't do anything. If you're not injecting more than you produce naturally, it's a waste of time.

Agreed. But rule books say so (for the steroids). As for Coleman, I wanna believe that he hasn't used any PH, GH or any steroids but according to him, he hasn't used any, and drug tests do support his account. The only thing that he has mentioned about his extensive growth of muscle in very little time were his supplements which to me, like you said, are only because of his endorsement deals. But then again, the question always arises whether or not Coleman has used steroids or not. The fact that he used to be a cop only accentuates this mystery.

And yeah, GH gut spells all over his midsection.

I know of several cops on steroids.

Do you have any links to these drug tests? Unless they were taken during the off season, I really can't see Ronnie passing. It would be nice to believe that being that huge and that lean were possible naturally, but I've never seen it happen.

Bah, I don't even know why I'm arguing this. I don't even like bodybuilding.

Heh, what do you mean by strange?
Well, some of the minor stuff would be interrupting PT sessions to ad unsolicited advice, as apposed to those (non body builders, just regular fitness folk) who don't have a trainer but want free advice and interrupt.
BUT the real strange stuff is that a few of these guys, one in particular, will harass mine and the other trainers clients, he will make faces and wave his arms, just real bazaar stuff. He has groped the other trainer, but I had one of the managers warn him not to speak to me. Other strange stuff too. Having said that, I would like to point out, that most of the clientele at all the weight rooms I have worked in are perfectly polite and doing a great job getting fit, body builders and fitness buffs alike.
At work, the Sportsplex, we just think that guy I just mentioned may suffer from mental illness?
Anyway, thanks for your info.
God Bless,J

The people who interrupt classes to give unwanted advise are the guys who spend their whole session doing bicep curls and think they know everything. If they are on steroids, no one can tell :D.

The one guy you talked about is probably just an idiot, or may have a mental illness. Steroids don't have a huge effect on mood or behavior, except making guys a bit hornier and more aggressive.
